she advocates condoms and not deodorant?

I think Margot is just conflicted. Dick said it best. She was the father in her book, both times loving and resentful over the responsibility of being a parent.

She doesn't want Claude to wear deoderant because it's a nod to the fact that he's becoming a young man. It's the same as when she wants to bleach his mustache. She wants to pretend that it's not happening.

As for condoms, Margot considers herself a "liberal" parent, when she's not. They talk about sex and masturbation. She is not truthful, but answers Claude's questions as she can, in a very straightforward manner. She already said that Claude and Maisy shouldn't have sex, but she's not so delirious to think that she can't stop it.

Um, what? Deodorant is like a spray-on or rub-on chemical while condoms are just a rubber sack. You can get even get them without lubrications or chemicals. So being surprised at her advocating one and not the other is like saying, "Whaaat? She doesn't like deodorant but she's drinking water??" Two different things, my friend.

Although actually, my comparison makes far more sense than yours, considering all the chemicals the government pumps into our water supplies.

Whether they find life there or not, I think Jupiter should be considered an enemy planet.

Well don't condoms protect people? I don't see your logic.

I don't advocate deodorant, it's toxic for the environment, bad for you and often tested on animals. 'body odour' was coined by a deodorant company.

if you don't like onions, you're not welcome!

Take a ride on the L-train on a sweaty summer's day and say that again.

Though actually, I know you still will because that's the kind of blind person you are (or purport yourself to be if you're a troll as I hope and suspect).

It was MAISY who told him to wear a deodorant. MARGOT didn't like her, so she just contradicted everything she said. If she had noticed the bad smell, I'm sure she would've asked him to wear deodorant.

In that scene, what was in the toilet that they show Claude looking down at? Was it a condom?

I thought it's the aluminum contained in anti-perspirant that is suspected of causing cancer? Not deodorant. But what do I know.
