worst movie I've ever seen ..

couldn't wait for it to end, but it just kept going and going.

I thought the acting was fine. The movie was just STUPID & PAINFUL to watch.

If you think I'm an insensitive guy, I just watched Edith Wharton's Age of Innocence and thought it was the greatest.

Don't pay money to get upset by this one.

This movie was terrible. It wasn't a black comedy. Heather's is a black comedy. What's funny about this movie? Keeping vicious animals in your home is foolish. She steals from her employer for stray animals? She tries to indoctrinate a young child? That's not okay. She tries to kill her neighbor because her dog went into HIS yard, HIS private property and Pencil accidentally dies? She's a lunatic animal rights person, she jumps on the animal rights bandwagon because of some boring guy?

Terrible movie, false advertising.

You've apparently never seen Evan Almighty.

I loved it myself. It's just a matter of taste I guess.

Uhm...yeah, it was pretty bad. Not the worst but one of the DUMBEST movies I've seen in awhile. Like OP said, couldn't wait for it to end. Only watched the whole thing because it was a rental and I believe in getting my money's worth out of everything as long as it doesn't take up too much valuable time and I was stuck alone in my car at the airport with nothing else to read or watch (I guess a nap would have been preferable though).

Don't get me wrong, I get the message and I'm a dog and cat lover and hate seeing animals hunted or tortured but this just made animal humane societies look like total idiots. All of those animal lover characters were made to seem like clumsy, socially-awkward bleeding heart losers or clods. Meanwhile they make the one guy who should be the anathema to this film, a normal likable and reasonable guy. I'm talking about the neighbor who liked to hunt. He had a nice organized place, seemed like a guy you wouldn't mind hanging out with and he even ended up with a nice babe. He tried to be nice to her and reason with her but she was just too weird to deal with. Movie didn't send the message it intended.

Guess you haven't seen many movies OP. I think this movie is woefully underrated.

It has an agenda. The Writers, Laura Dern and Mike White are card carrying Peta members, green activists, and anti corporate america. That bleeds into and greatly tinges everything they do. I like Enlightend, which they both did, but that was their strange take on anti-capitalism.

reply

An agenda? What really does that mean?
I think people confuse agenda with opinion. Not everything has a conspiracy slant.
Ugh, humans. So small minded.

reply

Ugh humans! Who make smarmy remarks without bothering to check their facts.
Laura and Mike freely admit to their "agendas".

Agenda:
: a list of things to be considered or done

: an underlying often ideological plan or program <a political agenda>

A quote from Laura Dern. it’s just so fun to get to play with female characters like that — and with much deeper opportunities, politically and socially.
