I didn't liked the last song at the end

I thought it was too sappy and ended the film in a way that it all felt incomplete. Does anyone agree?

reply

I didn`t like it the first time I saw the film but I`ve found that it grew on me later on subsequent viewings.
I now rather like it.

Does anyone the know the name of the last song?

reply

Yeah, Regina Spector - The call

That song was amazing. I want to learn it on guitar.

I loved the song. I though that it was very moving and beautiful.

BTW Sorry to nitpick but; "I didn't liked the last song"? Is English your first language? (Not being sarcastic there, I'm really asking) I didn't LIKE the last song is proper English

That's right, English isn't my first language. I'm sorry.

As a stand alone song, The Call is nice. But I didn't like it in the film. I thought it felt very out of place--it lacked that Narnian element. If the story took placing in a different setting (maybe modern day? I know, that would eliminate the 'leaving' element...) it may have worked better. I thought it had a very 'realistic' sound for the fantasy film.

reply

I couldn't said it better myself. That song was entirely out of place.

reply

Yeah i hated it too... it aged the film down so much.

and i know it's a kids movie, but when you're bordering on 2.5 hours and have plenty of intense battle sequences I think you can do better than that.

reply

Totally felt out of place...it was quite unnecessary.

It was very out of place.. good song.. BAD placement. I remember when I first watched the movie in the theatre I was totally immersed in the film and then when that song came on I realized I was just watching a movie and I didnt feel like "i was in Narnia with them". It totally killed the mood.

I agree with the comment stating that it was a good song but the placement didn't quite work. Perhaps if the rest of the film were run on a soundtrack rather than a score it would've made more sense. That being said, I love Regina Spektor. I think she's written so many amazing songs and I'd give my left arm for her singing voice.

Regina Spector - The call.

Regina has an AMAZING voice. The song isn't my favorite song ever (no one song is), but I do love it, & it's perfectly placed in the movie.

IF I want your opinion, I'll GIVE it to you.

reply

I disagree. I think it's magical and really heartwarming. And is actually perfectly placed.

I thought they should've used a different version of the song with an instrument playing the melody, rather than having lyrics.

reply

It felt really soft and breathy, and like the singer didn't have any talent.
