Unrealistic

I'm watching the movie right now, and yeah it's a bit funny, but the unrealistic turn of events just distracts me.

1.) A flight attendant will always check your ticket to see if you are at the right gate. Especially after 9/11? Heck yeah they'd check. The lady did check her ticket (from what I recall) why didn't she notice that her boarding pass was for Denver?

2.) A flight from San Diego to Los Angeles would not be a big commercial flight. I've been on a flight from SD to LA, it's charter. You know, those small planes where you actually have to step onto a landing strip in order to get on and off?

3.) Why would Drake and Josh waste money on getting on a plane to LA in order to chase after Megan? That would take too long and cost too much money. You'd have to wait for the flight time, wait to board, etc etc. Instead you can always drive there within a matter of 2 hours (depending on how fast you drive and if you know the routes). Tickets to LA by plane is way expensive, while a gas tank is not. Only about 40 bucks round trip by car. I do it all the time.

4.) (This one is minor) Presidential Suites are usually key access only, so how did Drake get up there?

There are a few other things that bother me, but those are the big ones that irratate me because in order to get drawn into a story, there are certain elements that need to be realistic. If those certain elements are not realistic, than it becomes distracting.

I know, I know, chill out, it's just a simple TV movie. Still, it doesn't make sense.

reply

I hear ya'. I get pretty picky with the details sometimes too.. but usually only over things with which I'm obsessed: Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Firefly, and Dune, to name a few(I don't go to conventions... honest!)

I guess "kids" shows have a little more slack with those kinds of things because children would be less likely to notice.

reply

So far it is unrealistic. Who leaves a Dodge Viper with the key in the car outside a hotel?

Ignorance is bliss.

reply

I had a few problems with those too. Yeah, the Viper threw me. I mean, especially Tony Hawk's Viper. They needed some way to move the movie along though, and younger kids wouldn't notice those things I guess.

Well all the things you said are true but megan flying alone on a plane. A lot of people let there children fly alone but with a attendant person with them almost all the time.

reply

Yeah, I think normally there is a flight attendant who assures the parents they will keep an eye on their child. There was really no flight attendant to assure Drake and Josh though, but you have to remember, it's a movie for kids (regardless of the jokes about the attendant and strip searches, and Drake and Josh's spooning incident in the closet, those were probably there for the parents). Kids aren't exactly going to care. They just want to see Drake and Josh run around L.A., like my little five-year-old brother did.

i havent seen it but it says theyre going on trl
trl is in new york isnt it?

reply

Yeah, but they're supposed to be doing a segment in L.A. The guy even mentions at one point, "I'm going to call New York..." I won't continue that statement since you haven't seen it yet.

WHAT IS YOUR FRIGGIN' PROBLEM!!! Firstly, how the heck could this "maniac" chaffeur be a child-molester?! I haven't heard of a lot of Hindu pedophiles! secondly; I fly alone all the time. And megan and I aren't much different in age. Secondly, ever since Bin Laden, they've almost completely destroyed the high-jacking problem. I photographically remember that day. It was a tuesday. THIRDLY, Drake & Josh aren't stupid! FoUrThLy, about your pervert "dumb boobs" comment; there are 2 reasons 4
this
#1. this TV movie is partially connected to MTV, the motherland of innapropiate and sexual content.
#2.this is aimed at MY AGE GROUP! You Know? 12-17? And we are mostly into sexual innuendo.

So for Christmas's sake! So Grow a brain Sherlock!

It had the keys so the hotel guys could park it.

reply

I agree with the comment about Megan using counterfeit money. That really disturbed me and sends a bad message to little kids. Don't these people THINK?!

reply

[deleted]

Yes, all the money should have been siezed for evidence, and it had no value anyway. I have come to expect little things like this from nick.

reply

The money was not counterfeit. In the news report in the beginning they said that a machine that makes real money was stolen from Washington DC when being delivered.

reply

Exactly! That money was not counterfeit! They should go back and watch again!

reply

I agree with most of your points, but on 1, Drake got her a ticket on the WRONG flight, so if it was checked, then it wouldnt matter.
Still, no self respecting parent would let things like this happen, they should have printed the tickets out from home, like you can.

reply

[deleted]

Agreed. I'm thirteen, and I fly to see my mother every six months.

reply

also how do the two bad guys get into the room without a key. they just walk in.

reply

[deleted]

Lol bad guys don't always need a key to open a door! Anything else?

reply

[deleted]

i agree with everything you guys said, but also if they knew that there was a child on the wrong plane, wouldn't they tell the people on the plane and have someone watch her and send her back....thats what they did on full house.

OK!

One: The valet arent going to leave Tony Hawks car out there like that!

Two: WHy would the manager let Drake and Josh borrow the car again!! It makes no sense. There wasnt even a reason for that.

Three: Never ever ever ever ever would the police give an escort that easily. You cant just be like, "Hey give those kids an escort"

"Ok, Johnson, give those kids an escort two hollywood. And please dont stay here and help with the crime scene! These kids are way more important"

Booooo, way to many problems with this movie.

reply

I just have to add one more thing that nobody has mentioned yet. Remember Megan left her phone in Josh's pocket? But when she got in to her hotel room she called Drake and Josh on her cell phone to tell them she was in a hotel. Where did the phone come from? Hmmm..

reply

I assumed that was a phone in the hotel.

And you all have all forgotten to mention the STUPIDEST thing ever...

Mitch randomly booking Drake to sing on TRL just because some kid pushes a laptop of Drake singing (badly) under his stall in the bathroom.

Oh, I'm sure THAT'S realistic...

God, this was the most effing stupid movie ever.

reply

First of all, Drake Bell is a good singer. IDK who told you any different b/c it sure wasn't your common sense! Secondly, if you're in a time-bind like that, you'd book just about anybody who's decent. And to end, this movie is great, children or not!

reply

The weird thing is that I thought this was a kid's movie on a kid's station.

reply

People keep saying that Tony leaving the keys in the Viper was unrealistic. NO, IT WASN'T! IT HAD TO BE VALET-PARKED!

reply

Basically only point 1 made by OP is valid, everything else is plausible.
