Why would she want to play a nanny?
Plus I am also wondering, why they wouldn*t want someone younger to play a Nanny?
Someone like Alexis Bledel for example.
I found it hard to believe that someone like Scarlett would be so shy towards the child*s parents.
It would be more believable if the nanny was younger!
Alexis Bledel (LOVED her in Gilmore Girls) is older than Scarlett Johansson.
This movie did come out 14 years ago, and 3 years before her first Marvel movie. Was she a big name yet?

However Alexis has always this kind of of a virging innocent looking kind of a student, while Scarlett Johanson looks so confident and more like a power woman.

Totally agree with you about Alexis. She looked so young when she did Gilmore Girls! I don’t really know when ScarletT became a huge star. I don’t remember thinking she was a big star when this came out, but I’m the last person to know things like that :-)
shareJohanssen was probably a top actress in her age group at the time, she was officially 22-23 when the movie was made. The gal who wrote the book had been in college when she worked as a nanny, so Johanssen was actually the right age to play the role, give or take a few years.
So really, the only problem with casting Johanssen was that she's a very weak actress.
