Do 'Fanboys' hate this movie?

Well, I'm a true Indiana Jones and Star Wars-Fan and expert since many-many-many years. As a true fan I really hate the PT (like all true fans). Only Star Wars-Fanboys defend the PT. But what about this moviee? I like it... I guess it was really funny. But do "Star Wars"-Fanboys hate "Fanboys"?

Huh? Why would you think that? All of my SW fanboy friends ADORE this movie. It's a love letter to Star Wars fans made by Star Wars Fans. Why in the world would they hate it?

Because a imdb-member voted "10" for the lousy movies of the pt and only "3" for "Fanboys".

I myself am a fan of the OT theatrical release, I do not like the special editions... I have no real love for eps 1,2 and 3.. although bearable they are nowhere near as good as the originals, just my opinion. Ep 3 is the only saving grace, but I think that's only because it starts to look like the original 3, (we finally get to see those lovely grey uniforms)...

anyway, getting to the point.. I loooove this movie, I thought it was very funny.. tons of in jokes, sooo much merch I would give my right eye for, and the cameos were awesome..

I liked it. I liked all the in-jokes and how passionate the characters were. I wish I had everything they did, all their shirts etc - it was just fun to be able to see a movie based around loving my favourite movies.

And I love seeing Carrie Fisher no matter what she's in - I love it when she does cameos in anything (like in Scream 3), she is always hilarious. And Harrison Ford is my favourite actor too, I love how much they defended him.

Oh and I have never really liked Star Trek, for no particular reason, and this was the first time I realised that was ok. When I was ever at any kind of convention or forum, I always felt like I had to like it.. Now I don't haha

But I will also say, the comments made by the OP in the first post, are the kind of comments that make me uncomfortable. If I like Episodes 1-3, that doesn't make me any less a fan. And I hate the labels, "fanboy" "true fan" - really, can't people just like it or not like it...

Very well said.

I love the OT and PT THE SAME. Saying only fanboys defend the PT is complete BS. Only fanboys defend *beep* ewoks destroying the empire with Sticks and Rocks.

Anyway i hated this movie. It wasnt funny and it wasnt that well put together. It lacked in many ways and i was often bored as *beep*

Like it or not.. the PT is part of the Star Wars universe, and you hate it. You can't dig around and find one redeemable quality about exactly 50% of the saga, so how exactly are you a true fan?

It seems to me like you're a dude that happens to like bits and peices of the big picture.

There are a few aspects of the PT that bug me, but I do still like and appreciate them. There are things in there that were REALLY well done, and some things that fail miserably. Life goes on.

<3 star wars!

now that Disney owns the rights, I Wish they remade the PT. that would be so amazing

I resent the fact that you claim that hating the prequel trilogy makes you a "true fan". We're all entitled to our opinion's and liking the story as a whole (PT included) does not make me any less of a fan than you are. In fact I think that very fact makes me more of an "expert" than you.

And fyi... I love Fanboys.

Yes, Vader was just a whiny teenager who never got his way. Deal with it.

I'm a star wars fanboy and I fricken LOVE this movie. I swell with pride at the end when spacehog's in the meantime plays as they are going to see episode one and I tear up a little, remembering my own experience going to see episode one

Star Wars fan since 1977 here, and I adore this movie! It's a sweet, hilarious, touching, hilarious film, a real personal favorite. It's a film about the deep friendships you sometimes see among nerds and outcasts, something that non-nerds probably dont understand, not until they see this movie, anyway.

That said, you couldn't call me "a fanboy" precisely. I dont really get along with most hardcore Star Wars fans, I'm sane and I have a sense of humor, so I dont fit in.
