Could this movie be any worse (READ IT ALL)

this movie was ridiculous. I'm obviously not the only person who thinks this because i went to see a 9:15 showing with my friends just because there were no good movies playing that i havent seen and i felt like laughing at bad filmmaking. I went to the theater and guess what....no ones there. Just us. We spent most of the movie yelling at the screen and talking about the major plot holes in the movie, or just laughing at how bad the plot and script were. Now to be honest i must say that it was so bad it was good, so if you like that kind of thing, which i do, then enjoy. The major plot-holes are as follows:

1. It is unbelieveably unrealistic that the workers at the airport would not have the contacts the parents of unaccompanied minors, there is no way they would just lock them up for christmas eve.
2. Grace (the supposedly hot girl) is seen playing and interacting with a group of kids her age who she seems to know. This is explainable if she is maybe on a field trip and they are at the same school, or if they were on some kind of vacation together and are flying home, but she later explains that she lives near the airport and just goes to it for fun. Not only that but these people are never mentioned again, this aspect of the movie was never explained.
3. If the airport is willing to transport a bunch of kids to a hotel, and possibly pay for their rooms and ammenities, then why weren't they willing to call their parents and notify them of the storm.
4. It was never explained how Beef (the fat one) was able to trade his action figure for a Christmas tree.
5. Wilmer Valderamma's character, Zack quits when he sees the way that his boss is treating the kids.....so when the official warms up towards the end of the movie, and Zack is still working there does that mean that Zack keeps his job? If so this is never explained.
6. It was ridiculous that the kids stayed in the airport when they were finally not being pursued by the airport workers. When they finally had a chance to escape they just played around for hours.
7. When Beef (the fat kid) tries to leave the airport to get Spencer's sister (who he has never met) a Christmas tree, he has no trouble in getting out, despite the fact that he is fat, stupid, and uncoordinated.
8. This to me is the biggest plot hole in the movie:
Spencer (the nerdy one who likes the supposedly hot girl) is stated to live in Pennsylvania, the location of the airport is not stated in the movie, but it is made clear that the drive from Pennsylvania to the airport is a lengthy one, taking at least a full day. So at the end of the movie when Grace comes to his house for Christmas the drive would be long enough that they would be there at a very late hour, making the trip pointless. It is stated that Grace lives within 20 minutes of the airport, so she would have to go all the way back the following day...this just makes no sense at all.

Whew, also this movie does not provide a good message to kids, even though it may claim to. This is not inspirational to kids who have divorced parents. It just teaches them that if they try to do anything ever adults will lock them in rooms, and that once they're locked in those rooms escaping will be easy because everyone knows 11-year old kids can hurt adults by punching them, and that running adults are notorious for falling down randomly or tripping over a single piece of luggage and falling.
Oh yeah, and fat kids are too fat and stupid to hang out with you. They just have to go away for virtually the whole plot.

I don't get why all the promos are saying "break out" & whatever, hinting that the plot of the movie is a bunch of kids are trying to escape from the airport. Where would they go? Just another "Kids rule/adults don't" movie. Oh, it's okay for kids to be complete brats, but (sarcastically) they're cute & innocent, let's forgive them. What is the point of this movie? It sucks!

I don't think this movie was even made for teens. Hopefully teenagers these days don't have that bad of taste in films. This movie was made for 7-11 year olds and their parents. Wow...why am I on a thread for this crap months after it came out, well actually I just found it in my message history. Meh.

Get a life. This film is great. It's an every year Christmas comedy, but it's good.

My dear daveydickler I cannot understand why you go to the movies at all. If it's reality you want watch the news or better yet, don't watch tv or movies at all. Get of your butt and get a life. Movies are entertainment. This movie was funny no matter how unrealistic, and it's ok because it is supposed to entertain, everything else you get from this or any other movie (if anything) is secondary.
So lighten up and try to enjoy the film.

This is based upon a true story. This happened in the 80's when divorce high was peaking. Most of the kids were on their way to the other parents place for the holidays. This happened in December. In fact it was a huge snow storm and they were snowed in at O'hare which is in Chicago. The author/writer was one of the kids-so this is how she she remembers it.

This is one of those movies that you know is gonna suck when you first even hear about it. Seeing a trailer is good enough, but so is hearing the title..
You just wonder why they keep making this $hit.
