So, um, did what happen at the end of series one really happen?

If anyone here hasn't seen the final scene of 'Aunt Irma Visits' from series one, please read no further.

For those who have, (and I apologise if this as been endlessly discussed on another thread) did Moss and Jen actually sleep together? And did Roy sleep with the psychiatrist and Richmond sleep with Denholm? It said 'To be continued' but it wasn't so I don't know if it was meant to be 'all a dream' or just that they never spoke if it again. In later episodes, Moss and Jen certainly don't act as though they have slept together which makes me think it was all a dream but this was never confirmed either way.

Also, I don't know if anyone else has pointed this out but, wasn't Jen supposed to be on her period? Eww!

"He murders his wife every night. Other than that, I think he's pretty harmless."

The show is mostly self-contained. To keep track of every plot development is cumbersome for the comedy and plot of a single episode.

Um, are you a guy who's never had a long-term gf? B/c every single man I know would not mind sleeping with a woman who happens to be on her period. Just lay down some towels and get over it. It's not like it floods down there...

However, some women don't feel like sex while they're on their periods b/c they're dealing with cramps, back pain, bloatedness, cravings and foul moods. But if they're up for it, the blood part really isn't that big of a deal.

Thank you, Westward and Morn, for exhibiting positive and mature attitudes about this subject. Refreshing to see here.

That is all.

Luke … this is your father … come set the table for dinner.

My exes were friskier just before and during their periods. You just learn to deal with it if you love a woman of childbearing age

I just listened to the commentary for season 2 for the first time and Graham Linehan actually addresses this. He considers season 2 as almost a re-boot of the series. In other words yes all that happened but no he wasn't going to address any of it. Mostly because if Moss and Jen had slept together it would completely change the dynamic of their relationship and therefore the show.

He also mentioned that he had a Moss line in the season 2 opener that referenced that night and how he had to use her robe because she threw up on him in the night, which would (hopefully) negate any sex. But ultimately he just decided to not address it and move on.

Basically the Denholm and Douglas versions of the IT Crowd are the same show shown in two slightly different but parallel universes.

Nothing wrong with making love to a woman on her period, as long as she doesn't mind. Just one more bodily fluid in the mix.
