DUMB DUMB DUMB + BOOOORING!!!

Just suffered through 90 minutes I'll never get back This POS isn't worthy of MST3K. Every cliché is trotted out let's name a few (umm, spoilers) I'll try to save you 90 minutes of your life:

1-pretty girl accepts ride from slightly creepy college boy/stranger
2-slightly creepy stranger boy becomes creepier by the minute
3-creepy middle of nowhere rest stop/gas station with generic weirdo behind counter (can anyone say Identity, Vacancy, Breakdown, Psycho, etc.) (all good movies btw)
4-oh yeah, creepy customer at rest stop who leers at pretty girl just before she gets locked in foul restroom
5-all three creepy dudes are feet away yet none respond to her screams while locked in restroom
6-wrong turn down snowy creepy back road (the requisite shortcut)
8-mandatory crash/now stranded in the middle of nowhere
7-various bogeymen threaten from dark snowy woods (evil ghost cop, undead monks who look like Pinheads and belch eels straight out S. King's Dreamcatcher, flashback scenes/nightmares, etc.)
8-original creepy boy now seems to be just a nice friendly well meaning weirdo/stalker (with low rent philosophy spewed during "stuck in car" scenes like "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" lol...barf)
9-girl actually starts to like stalker college boy
10-girl becomes heroine/Sarah Connor while weirdo boy in car dies of frostbite or whatever
11-friendly rescuer tow truck dude (who looks ominous) shows up to save them, while delivering backstory that vaguely explains the ghosts(?)
12-real bad guy kills friendly rescuer
13-and yep, it happens: What idiotic movie wouldn't be complete without the heroine jumping into a vehicle that won't quite start as nasties close in?
14-ghost of college boy/stalker turned nice guy leads girls through woods back to rest stop and real safety
15-girl (wrapped in mandatory blanket) looks sad/cry's as movie cuts to credits

You just watched the whole movie in your head. THE REAL TERROR: Don't view or you'll run screaming from this movie's awfulness.

I DON'T have a Master's degree and understood it just fine. I liked it, but then I'm biased as I fancy the *beep* out of Emily Blunt! :)

That's because you're too dumb to understand any of it.
The fact that you have to use a '?' for the ghost part says it all.. I mean, obviously those were ghosts. And undead monks who look like pinheads? Dude.. didn't you pay attention? They were priests and they looked so weird because they froze to death while sleeping (the tow truck dude explains it).

The girl actually didn't turn into the heroine Sarah Connor style.. Oh wait, she kicked those damn ghostasses and showed em who's the boss, how could I have missed that... And what is wrong about the girl trying to save the day? Oh, you didn't actually watch the movie... Otherwise you would've known that the boy really needed medical help immediatly cuz he was hurt bad and she found out he was pissing blood.

I gotta say that the ending left some questions open but other than that this wasn't a bad movie and was nicely done. Critics are fine and I don't mind people not liking a movie but I do mind people yelling things while they have no clue about stuff

I disagree completely - clearly showing that no film can (dis)please everybody. I gave it 7/10.

Oh,c'mon---this movie was neither dumb nor boring---it came across as a REAL horror movie that actually tried to scare me, instead of just being some tired-a** SAW ripoff or because it wasn't the gorefest you thought it was. Also, next time remember to put a spoiler heading even for the movies you hate. This was actually pretty good horror drama---I don't get the hate--I mean, I've seen far worse films get get even less hate then this one. At least it actually had an actual story going for it, and it wasn't the 900th retread or remake of any classic horror flick or anything like that.

I watched it up until when the "guy" started walking to get help at the gas station. Couldn't understand it so I switched it over. Might watch the rest of the movie if it ever repeats on cable. I'll only watch the 2nd half though. The first half was silly to me.

Um..." hdsjkingtut"?

Can you please explain for me (and probably many others). We see many posts just like yours - over-use of superlatives, always talking about the "total waste of X minutes I will never get back - etc. (as if a couple of hours of your time is so ultra-valuable?).

THEN you always, always spend about 30 minutes typing a lengthy and negative 'opinion' - as if this movie you claim wasted your precious time now controls you, so fixated (nearly "obsessed momentarily"?) are you on how righteously angry you are that:

[iSO - ]An activity you CHOSE, that is - your decision, 100% - dares to dissapoint you and that entitles you [/i]1) to speak as if your opinion is fact; and 2) most expecially, believe that all of us agree so adamantly that we would love to read your entire, totally contradictory 'opinion'

i.e., The Facts: " ME, I so hated that this movie wasted my time that I now dedicate another 30 minutes of much more rigorous activity than simply watching a movie - that is how little I care for this movie; I refuse to allow it to take up any more of my precious time!"

Um..then WHY TAKE SO MUCH TIME WRITING ANOTHER, TYPICAL IMDB FANBOY REVIEW?

Pls explain this repeating phenom on IMDB, please? In as much detail as the original post...

Are you really expecting a rational explanation on imdb? These are the same people who gripe about 10 minute youtube videos wasting precious minutes of their time, as if they couldn't click "stop" and "back" in their browser at any time. ;)

I liked this movie. I've watched it a few times over the years. I think Emilys acting helps carry the movie. Most of the time these kinds of movies (horror in general) loose me quick due to such bad acting.
