DUMB DUMB DUMB + BOOOORING!!!

Just suffered through 90 minutes I'll never get back This POS isn't worthy of MST3K. Every cliché is trotted out let's name a few (umm, spoilers) I'll try to save you 90 minutes of your life:

1-pretty girl accepts ride from slightly creepy college boy/stranger
2-slightly creepy stranger boy becomes creepier by the minute
3-creepy middle of nowhere rest stop/gas station with generic weirdo behind counter (can anyone say Identity, Vacancy, Breakdown, Psycho, etc.) (all good movies btw)
4-oh yeah, creepy customer at rest stop who leers at pretty girl just before she gets locked in foul restroom
5-all three creepy dudes are feet away yet none respond to her screams while locked in restroom
6-wrong turn down snowy creepy back road (the requisite shortcut)
8-mandatory crash/now stranded in the middle of nowhere
7-various bogeymen threaten from dark snowy woods (evil ghost cop, undead monks who look like Pinheads and belch eels straight out S. King's Dreamcatcher, flashback scenes/nightmares, etc.)
8-original creepy boy now seems to be just a nice friendly well meaning weirdo/stalker (with low rent philosophy spewed during "stuck in car" scenes like "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" lol...barf)
9-girl actually starts to like stalker college boy
10-girl becomes heroine/Sarah Connor while weirdo boy in car dies of frostbite or whatever
11-friendly rescuer tow truck dude (who looks ominous) shows up to save them, while delivering backstory that vaguely explains the ghosts(?)
12-real bad guy kills friendly rescuer
13-and yep, it happens: What idiotic movie wouldn't be complete without the heroine jumping into a vehicle that won't quite start as nasties close in?
14-ghost of college boy/stalker turned nice guy leads girls through woods back to rest stop and real safety
15-girl (wrapped in mandatory blanket) looks sad/cry's as movie cuts to credits

You just watched the whole movie in your head. THE REAL TERROR: Don't view or you'll run screaming from this movie's awfulness.

Yep, terrible movie. You actually have 16 points, not 15. 7 and 8 are mixed up in the middle.

Horrible movie. Worst one I've seen in a while.

This movie simply should not have been made. I guess it was very cheap.

I thought it was a great movie; "her" character development was impressive. Sorry it didn't have anything brand new, never seen before, in it for you!

Appreciate you pointing out some of these things - very cliche. I just saw the film with my sister and friend and none of us understood it and between the three of us we have three masters degrees!!

For someone who claims to have a Master's degree and still couldn't understand this movie is really sad. I question the authenticity of your statement regarding your education.

To bfan83, I completely agree. Just because one has a paper that claims they are smart, doesn't truly mean that they are.

I just watched it and agree that it wasn't good. I read Leonard Maltin's reiew in his book and he made it seem decent, which it wasn't. Unlikable characters and a slow dragging 90 minutes. Stay away from this one.

Well, I already watched it too and I actually liked it. Sure, it wasn't one of the best or anything close to that but still enjoyable.
But maybe it's just me. I sometimes like to watch really bad movies and I can actually enjoy most of them. The trick is knowing what you're watching.

I understand your position -- especially about the line of "creepy" characters cliche. But I still somewhat enjoyed the movie.

I highly disagree.

This is one of the Most SCARY movies I have seen lately.

There´s no need of disgusting gore and violence to make a great SCARY movie. This is not a movie for sick people.

It´s just a suffering, simple, but awesome scary!!!!!!!!

I ageree with ValkrieOakenshield74, character-driven, with a good plot, will build more suspsense than all the CGI and gore comnined. Even if this moview were a retread, I think the writers gave it an original spin. The acting was fine, the location shots were great. I found it plausible; and, quite enjoyable. Very sad in the end.

I agree! The idea that some places on this Earth are haunted by spirits that suffered horrible deaths and are almost stuck there like a form a purgatory is not a new one. They are called a poltergeist and it was a very sad ending in that the girl who at first put up walls to new men finally fell in love but it was too late due to the guy dieing a slow death from internal bleeding from injuries from blunt force trauma suffered during the crash for all you people that are not Fire/EMS and could not understand what killed him but yet have a bachelor's degree in binge drinking at some college.
