Why did they twin remain attached till adolescence?

That is weird. They were just attached at the abdomen and they share no critical organs. They were attached by just small area of skin and flesh. So, WTF doctors did not separate them since they were baby??

That's provably what they call ''PLOT HOLE''

I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.

I thought it had something to do with their stomach because the one scene with Ploy not wanting to take the medicine and Pim took it for her. But is separating a stomach hard to do?

reply

Wasn't it that they didn't want to be separated? Pim started to want to be separated after she became in love with Vee.

Why is it than when one is killed, they had to operate en both of them? (they are both using oxigen masks during the operation... why?? Why??)

The original siamese brothers were attached only by a small piece of skin, but they stayed together until they died. Siamese brothers share the same blood circulation

If you are referring to Chang and Eng Bunker, they lived in the early to late 1800's and medical science was not capable of separating them at that time.

Perhaps the mother just couldn't / wouldn't afford the operation when they were babies; I don't think the doctors would do that for free, especially when it's not really necessary. They didn't have the choice when one of them died - I've heard being attached to a dead body is not that good for your health.

I was wondering the same. They didn't share any vital organ, perhaps an artery but even that could be handled by qualified surgeons.
Perhaps if they were too poor so they couldn't afford the surgery (assuming in Thailand as in USA healthcare system is not free).
Makes no sense to remain attached, no sense at all. The screenwriters could have made it more believable by saying they shared part of their digestive system, liver, even a lung or kidney.

They were NOT too poor to have the operation, because did you see their house? It was bloody huge, with a gate, a housekeeper and alot of space (with a huge piano/fancy furniture/record player and everything) . Also they had no problem staying at the hospital for an extended time.

I think it was out of choice, they were always together and only when Vee was involved and Ploy's stubborness did Pim want to be separated.
You also have to remember their mom totally loved them together. She was happily sewing up their clothes to fit them in the intro and seemed to be quite supportive of their upbringing probably thinking they were special a real two part blessing for her.
