So what was your favourite team?

My team was Storm, Cyclops, Wolverine and Magneto first time through but second time i tried Rogue, Juggernaut, Cyclops and Wolverine and they have been good so far. I have played as ironman and jean for a while to and they seem good. All these characters and you can only chosse 4.

Before beathing the game I used Toad, Jean, Iceman and Wolverine most of the time. I also used Cyclops, Rogue and Storm on occasion. But now that I have beaten the game, I use Professor X, Iron Man, Deadpool and Iceman. I use this team because with this combination, more tech bits are dropped and I have to rely on being able to buy level ups now.

For my first playthrough, I used the Femme Fatale. Rogue, Storm, Jean, and Wanda. Everything you need to solve every puzzle, access every area, and take down every enemy. Three flyers, a bridge builder, a tank with 2 points of Might, a telekinetic, two healers, a variety of damage types, an Xtreme power which makes everyone invulnerable, anothe Xtreme which revives fallen team members mid-battle... The list goes on. No leadership, but with combos so rare this time anyway, it doesn't make a huge difference. And, with the all-female team, you get a health bonus. 5% of the damage you do comes back as healing for the team member who did it.

Now, I'm in Act 4 of my second playthrough. I've been swapping around a lot, trying to get everyone up to the same level as the women. Unfortunately, when you start the game at level 37, you don't level up very often for the first half of the game. Still, the men have gained about 9 levels while the women are up about 4. (Men are at level 46 or so, and the women are up to 56.) By the time I finish the game again, things should be almost even, and I should be able to use anyone I want in Hard mode.

My personal favorite team was:

I used Wolverine and Colossus the most as Jean and Iceman would hit the baddies from a distance (most of the time). I would intermix other people once in a while but I found myself constantly going back to the 4 mentioned above.

Xtreme Attack: METALLIC MAYHEM
Other 1: Flight

I use Colossus for his pure strength; his Siberian Express is seriously lethal and the Bounding Smash knocks back all enemies within his radial reach. The Roar increases all traits (body, focus, speed, strike) to all allies for a time.

I use Deadpool for his melee attacks, namely Rupturing Jab. It does a lot of damage including bleed damage and the more you increase it, the faster it takes down enemies, not using much energy power, either. Teleportation is used simply to allow him to travel places most characters can't.

I use Iceman for his Cold Crush. It's an ice spike that hits an enemy and explodes in a radius slowing all other enemies in that radius. It's wicked. His Freeze Beam only takes out one enemy at a time but it gets the job done fast. Ice Gloves give allies a boost in melee attack for a time, too.

I use Magneto for Levitation. Though Jean has many similar abilities, I use Magneto for his Leadership to get the team levelled up quicker. He has Flight to get places others can't and I usually alternate between Magnetic Blast and Magnetic Grasp, but usually go with the Blast since Grasp takes more power.

It's a well rounded team, but unless I use the AoA uniforms, I don't get a team bonus, unfortunately.

Juggernaut--Nightcrawler--Any other two, Juggernaut and nightcrawler take care of everything themselves.

my powerhouse team to take down apocalypse is jean, deadpool, iceman and cyclops. deadpool is my melee fighter for everything, and jean is my top fighter for her psi moves. the others i change in and out.
