Am I a bad person?

Took my kids to the movie, my friend took his.

When that Eep girl arrived on the screen, looking like a kind of animalistic goddess, we both turned in the theater and looked at each other and the message was simple 'OH, YEA!!!!! EEP HAS GOT IT GOING ON!!!'

We joked about it later... I felt a bit dirty, but not much more than usual.

reply

Yes you're very very bad!

reply

Eep is ugliest cartoon character since on of the aliens from mars needs moms. This movie is as bad as troll 2!

reply

lol, people who state their opinions as facts amuse me. Thanks!!

ACtually, I think Moses's wife in "Prince of Egypt" is very ugly, perhaps the ugliest drawn woman on film.

reply

And I find Moses's sister, Miriam, to be the most gorgeously-drawn woman on film.

(Of course, that's my opinion, but my opinion's right.)

Look! I've got one job on this lousy ship; it's *stupid*, but I'm gonna do it! Okay? - Gwen DeMarco, Galaxy Quest

reply

No, you're not bad. It was hard to overlook...her face wasn't all that but she did have..spare the pun...a rockin' body.

reply

No you are not bad, just honest. I think the brains behind the animation decision did this on purpose to strike the interest of middle aged men who took their kids. They know what they are doing - trust me. These men have wives that have let themselves go without care or thought of their husband's needs.

reply

And these husbands are all Adonises, right? No beer bellies or flabby pecs among them? What a sexist thing to say!

reply

And you decided to address his sexism with some enlightened compassion? Oh wait. No you didn't. You just responded to sexism with more sexism. Brilliant.

reply

Ouch-- you're right. I let my knee-jerk reaction take over... But jeez, that kind of thing just burns me up!

reply

You were right on.

But nothing for middle aged women who's husbands have let them selves go, and now even drool over cartoon cave girls. Nobody ever thinks about female needs

Actually I think they're stating their opinions as opinions, you don't need to say imo, before everything you say.

reply

I was of the mind that Eep with her odd features would be ugly but for some strange reason I found the character quite attractive.

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

reply

For shame, you dirty man! Lol

Cave men not suppose to be hot

reply

No, you're not bad, but.... It's not uncommon for some adults to look at teenagers and see attractive young men and women instead of children. At some point, hopefully, those same adults will realize that the teens are much too young for such adult attention. That often happens when their own children become teens or when the adults stop seeing themselves as younger than they are.

I highly doubt that the writers and artists were making characters that would appeal sexually to middle aged men. It's more likely that they were trying to capture the spirit of adolescence. After all, some of them have teenage daughters themselves.

reply

I know that for myself I found Eep, specifically her movements and the camera angles, uncomfortably sexual in the opening scenes.

I say uncomfortable because I felt sure this was a 15 year old, plus or minus a couple of years, in revealing clothing, and some 'upskirt' shots as someone else has mentioned.

Made me think of Jon Snow's Red-Head Wildling girl and how you can just tell she's a dirty girl. I got over it though.

She reminded me of Princess Fiona...ogre style. Not to say she was ugly. But still...hmmm. I dunno..we're all pigs!
