I don't understand why (in the alternate version) the grandmother and others didn't know how the little girl got the cuts on her face and had Sandra committed because of it. It would have been pretty obvious that the glass door was broken and the daughters and Sandra would have told everyone what happened.

shareThe glass doors weren’t broken, we get a shot of them every day. We can even see them repaired Wednesday morning when Linda wakes up, and there are shots on Friday and Saturday where the windows have stickers on them.
The girls would not tell anyone what happened, because their mother told them not to talk about it the night it happened. This is shown on Saturday when Linda asks her what happened and they won’t even tell her.
Linda herself only had the answer on Friday. If she were asked by her mother on Thursday when she arrived, or on Saturday as seen in the movie, she wouldn’t know, because of the order that she experienced things
