Which actor is worse in this? Affleck or McAdams?

IMO:

Affleck was vey bad (especially the part where he's arguing with the Point Corp CEO...over acting would be an understatement),

But McAdams was much worse. There was some part in the movie where Crowe tells her they're off the story and she replies "Ohhh nooooooo".

It is truly cringeworthy. It is awful. Everytime I think about it I shake my head and try to push it out of my mind. I'm contemplating therapy.

McAdams wasn't particularly good, imo. But I thought Affleck did a pretty good job here. I'm not really an Affleck fan at all, but I thought is acting was pretty strong in this film.

When I said I wanted to be a comedian, they all laughed at me. Well, they're not laughing now!

I normally don't bash the acting in a movie on imdb. But I'm halfway through this, and everyone is stinking up the joint. That's how bad everyone is doing in this. I'm contemplating just giving up and not finishing it. Awful acting by everyone.

Okay, so I had to come edit and say, the acting got better for some of them. I especially enjoyed Jason Bateman-I honestly thought he was the best of the lot of them.
The movie wasn't bad after all. I don't know if I'd rate it above a 6, but it wasn't bad.

I like to give Rachel a pass because she is so darn cute. I have to agree she was miscasted in this role. She didn't seem to take it very seriously. I really don't think she has the range. Not a big Affleck fan sans Good Will Hunting but I think he did pretty good for his role. I thought he was convincing enough. Someone mentioned the Jason Bateman beat down I think they hit the mark with the dazed and confused reference.
Crowe did a great job except for his accent. First part of the movie you could hear the Irish accent but disappated later in the movie.

I dunno, but Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms.

Affleck just doens't cut it for me, in just about anything he's done.

He's one of those actors where you can just see the guy acting. It's almost like he's always trying to stifle a laugh, and quite often appears he's hiding embarrassment also.

Having said that, depending on the film he can be a tolerable enough presence.

I've not seen Mcadams in anything else but thought she did ok in this.

I thought McAdams acting was fine, did her character really well.

Affleck, however, oh dear! I think he was the poorest actor in the movie.

I thought Ben Affleck was pretty good actually. When he and Cal are by the columns at the Capitol and he's telling Cal about deputized paramilitary officers being on US soil, I was on the edge of my seat. Rachel McAdams is capable of more but her character is a junior reporter used to hanging out in front of her Mac all day; she wasn't supposed to have the gravitas of a Helen Mirren. So in that regard, her acting was about right.

I like Affleck but I didn't think he played rage as well. In the British miniseries, Affleck's character beats the crap out of the guy and you believe why he's in the hospital. Affleck was much more restrained here. Even in The Town, Affleck uses another character for the angriest scenes. So even as a director, I think he's aware of it.

McAdams was not great and I've never seen Crowe look worse. So honestly, if you want to see a good version of this story, watch the British miniseries version.

I can only remember 2 filmes where Affleck's work as an actor was anything near as good:

Dogma
Chasing Amy

Anything else I remember watching with him he was either quickly forgettable or truly awful.

In the other hand, he is shaping up to be a pretty solid director, not to mention a good writer too.

Maybe he should stick with behind the camera jobs :)
