Suggestions for future Christopher Guest movies

I've read elsewhere that he doesn't like the word "mockumentary." Nevertheless, over the years he's developed a reliable, versatile format for his movies: a documentary-style chronicle that follows a group of diverse characters converging on a central event, whether a theatre production, dog show, folk music concert, or awards ceremony. If they hadn't made the movie GALAXY QUEST, he could have done one about a science fiction convention.

With that in mind, why not contribute suggestions for future Guest movies? I'll start off with one: Truckers.

We could follow different truck drivers -- men, women, couples -- as they go about their different routes and we learn about them. The central event could be, for example, the closing of some old, favorite truck stop and a commemorative celebration held for the occasion. One colorful detail that could be included is some of the drivers' devotion to a "Coast to Coast"-like show and its Art Bell/George Noory-like host, since many truckers call in to that show.

There's my suggestion. Any others?

Beauty pageants or bigfoot conventioners.

I would say the reality show format (thinking Here Comes Honey Boo Boo), but that sort of parodies itself.

"Joey, have you ever been in a Turkish prison?"

I think he could do something really funny with teachers. I'm in education myself and it seems like teachers are seen as a bit "apart" from everybody else...giving, caring, only worrying about the students. This is very true, but teachers have a public side and a private side as well. He could show teachers cussing about students, having troubles with their own children or exes, or other real world issues that everybody deals with.

I'm glad to see other replies to this. One thing I thought of, though: If he happened to see this and liked some of them, would there be a legal problem or some other reason why he might be reluctant to use an idea posted here? Would there have to be some sort of official channel involving agents, lawyers, or whatnot?

He could do a political one (kind of like Wag the Dog or Canadian Bacon) or just have it center on the Presidential race and / or the party conventions.

Or just a look at small town politics (which was hit upon in Waiting for Guffman).

Cable News Media.

The burgeoning years of Surf Rock music. (Or for that matter... Disco or any number of musical styles that had a hey day. Doo Wop or Rap would be tough since there aren't a whole lot of black actors in Guest's usual ensemble.)

People working at and running a theme park.

County Fair.

The Farming Industry.

Cooking Shows.

The Talk Show industry or Talk Radio industry.

Conventions (someone mentioned a Sci-Fi convention, and along the same lines... a Comic-con, or a satire about the whole comic book industry. A Writers convention. Conventions to gather people suffering from medical or psychiatric conditions, etc.)

A Renaissance Fair (!!!)

The Self-Help / Personal Development industry.

A Public Broadcasting TV Station.

Broadway (since most of his satires are about some form of show business).

P.S. I like others' suggestions for satires on Teachers, the Education system or Reality TV.

We have it!

Mascots, coming October 2016! Ten years after FYC. Nice to see there will be another!

"what's this? A doorknob? Good show!" -- the easily impressed Dr. Bartley

Following on eholzapfel26's suggestion, I think a movie that covers the behind-the-scenes of a conservative/Fox News station or an MSNBC/liberal station (or perhaps even both!) would be great to see.
