Mostly due to the lead, but yeah, I have seen both and this is so much better than the original.

I definitely prefer the original. It has a better atmosphere, the cast has more chemistry and feels like a real family, and it also has a better musical score. But that being said, I do think this is one of the better remakes. You can tell the makers respected the original rather than having hostility towards it since they didn't change anything that didn't need changed and it was cool to see Harvey Stephens in an Omen movie again. I also think the kid that played Damien was perfectly cast in the role. He looked exactly like I would imagine the Antichrist looking if he was a child on Earth and it's was great to see Mia Farrow as an homage to Rosemary's Baby.

This version pales in comparison to the the orignal, PALES.
We had seasoned actors in the first version who brought life to their characters. Not these robotic one dimensional actors.
