WORST SEQUEL EVER!!!!!!!

Im a huge fan of the original Merlin and was so excited to hear that a sequel was coming, but when I watched it yesterday I was hugely dissapointed.

The story was all over the place and the Lady of the Lake had turned evil??!. Other than Sam and Mirander, NONE of the other actors where back (not even in flash back or past tense) and their on-screen characters where NOT EVEN MENTIONED which makes me think that they didn't want to return or where embarrassd by the terrible script and so steered clear. There was hardly any magic, and Merlin got killed half way through the story in a really pathetic death scene!!!!! He survived Queen Mabs magic, so surely would have been able to defend himself from a mortal sword!!!

Sorry to go on, but in my opinion it was a huge slap in the face and a big insult to the original.

I agree with the review on the main page. 3/10 Why Bother!!!

The first 15 minutes of this movie were pure BLASPHEMY. I decided to stop watching.

Me too - i have seen it thirty times or more - bought the DVD and the VHS tape long before that... i was so excited and later, so disappointed. I refuse to accept the end of Merlin - it is just silly and total nonsense, the entire production is just horrible and not worth a single penny!

I would suggest to everyone who really cared for the old production never to watch the sequel, simply avoid it and never speak of it again...

couldn't have said it better!!!

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm going to watch it anyway despite how horrible it is. I want to see the story continued for myself after the end of the first one.

Another inconsistancy that nobody has mentioned yet is that a lot of time and effort was spent on the original `Merlin` TV production to give it a sort of Post-Roman Britain look to the costuming and background world.
In this one though the look is more standard Fantasy Medieval and set in a land called `Camelot` rather than Britain.
It just dosnt look like its set in the same world.

A result of a more US based production perhaps?

I wonder if the whole talking pig thing was `inspired` by the old `The Black Cauldron` film and Lloyd Alexander`s `The Chronicles of Prydain`books generally.
