Best way to watch?

I've seen Death Proof and Planet Terror as seperate entities. I enjoyed both.

Is it better to watch them together as the Grindhouse cut? I understand both entries are trimmed slightly (15 minutes from each approximately).

Are the shorter cuts of the films better?
