I think the way 'magical' things happen around Giselle and the marriage of animation and real life action leant a lot to Mary Poppins?
And of course the narrator was....

I've just now been going through the trivia section for 'Enchanted' on IMDb and noticed some references to Disney's earlier films. One nice touch is that Edward and Giselle dine at the 'Bella Notte' which is the name of the song that the Italian waiter sings to 'Lady and the Tramp' while they eat their spaghetti.
