I know these movies aren't exactly the same, but they both fall into the catagory of comedy and they both involve the smokin of alot of green :P

Pineapple Express had more frequent laughs, but Grandma's Boy had bigger laughs. It's hard to say. When I'm high, I'm more down to watch Grandma's Boy just because it's shorter and more chill (no loud gunfights and stuff).

Grandmas Boy. I just ain't the biggest Seth Rogen or Danny McBride fan (except for Eastbound and Down, but that seems perfectly crafted for him)

Basement scenes are some of the funniest ever.
Alex: “I want you to take the Frankenstein *beep* the deer *beep* the green monster, the bling and the bling-bling and I want you to roll it all into one joint.”
Dante: “No one’s ever been brave enough to try that.”
Alex: “One man is. Roll it.”
Dante: “I’ll smoke it with you, bro. We’ll go to the loony bin together. I don’t give a *beep*.”
…and then later…
“I’m videotapin’ this for scientific research. This bleep will be on the Discovery Channel.”
Grandma's Boy, hands down. Pineapple Express sucked and here's why: you don't put an action sequence or a murder in a stoner movie. Stoner movies are about chillin', smokin' and laughin'.
Oh, and Danny McBride sucks. Another reason.
I just can't pick. I will watch either one every single time I get a chance to. On a somewhat related note, I like the TV edited version of PE better than the TV edited version of Grandma's Boy.
I hate IMDb sometimes! They are never any when you need it.
They're both great. Hard to choose which one is better.
