Cheapest theatre movie ever made?

I checked out the box office/business details on imdb and this movie was made with only 750,000 dollars, and pretty much all movies in theatres are usually multi-million dollar projects, has there been any other theatre movies cheaper?

awesome movie btw.

Clerks was made for like $12,000-$24,000 can't remember the exact amount but then again it was never played on a mainstream theater.

Clerks 1 cost 27k to make. He used credit cards, asked for donations, and sold all his comic books to make it happen.

From what I remember, the movie PRIMER (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0390384/) cost 7k to make, and made it into several theaters across the country, before being a cult success on DVD. Now THAT is some damn fine budget stretching...

But on a personal note, this movie was amazing in theaters. Everyone was either drunk or stoned, no empty seats in the house, and everyone walked out with a HUGE smile on their face. Gotta love ATHF fans...

I'm shocked that this movie only premiered on 877 screens. I went to see it the day it was released and I live in Oklahoma.

Nope. I can think bunch movies that went to theaters cheaper than 750,000! Clerks is one of them.

Paranormal Activity cost $11,000 USD to produce in 2007. Pretty good return on their investment there I'd say (193 million)
