Lincon is so annoying..

Seriously guys. I dont want to offend the Lincon fans, but me and my BF were constantly laughing about Burroughs through all seasons.

So fans of him, I apologize to you - this is only MY conception of Burroughs and I also don´t mean the actor, but the character in the series - so here it goes:

1. He always looks like nothing is going on in his mind - plain and simply dumb - I really can´t put it any other way!

2. He dresses like an idiot… the open shirt thats supposed to look sexy but doesn't do him much favor... The way he drags hats way too deep into his face. He always tries to look cool but ends up looking really stupid in the end. When he is out and being chased, most of the time he doesn't even care to wear a hat or anything like that at all!! And his special head form is so easy to spot!

3. When he is trying to form a plan, it always goes wrong. He likes to punch people - a lot! He cares for Michael but usually messes everything up so Michael, who is so thoughtful and smart has to pick up the pieces in the end. In my opinion Michael could have done way better than trying to safe his brother! And that brings me to the point that annoys me to most about this character:

4. A LOT OF PEOPLE DIE BECAUSE OF HIM!! And YES the series tries to make us think the people die because of the company, but actually its all Lincs fault. He is just a really horrible guy and should have stayed in prison. I certainly wouldn't give him the chair, he doesn't deserve that. But hey, serious - he did agree to murder the guy in the beginning - just that he did NOT do it because he WAS already dead doesn't make this much better.

Well. At least he´s quite a good laugh.

Kind of ridiculous to pin all of those deaths on Lincoln when it WAS the company and no one else. Its not Lincolns fault that they decided to pin this whole ridiculous plan on him and were so dedicated to it.

You forgot the obvious - Purcell is a terrible actor...

They both bring two different things to the table and that's what makes them interesting as brothers. Michael is the brains and Lincolns the brawn, I don't see whats so wrong about that? Violence is necessary sometimes whether people want to admit it or not.

A lot of people died because of him? Sorry, but was he the one that faked the presidents brothers death? No, I don't think so. Did you not see The Company do all the nasty things they did? Guess not.

Attacking his appearance and the way he dresses is just lame and really has nothing to do with his character as I'm sure someone would have a gripe with the way you dress.

Just sayin'..

I can't stand Lincoln either. The only reason I'm glad the revival is happening is because the wrong brother died at the end of the show. Now they can fix that. Unless they kill the wrong brother yet again.

Didn't want to start a new thread. Did I miss the explanation for why they had different last names? Obviously when they are revealed to not be related it makes sense, but did it never come up their whole lives?

reply

Ummm, you're forgetting that what goes down at the end of season 2 and therefor all of season 3 happened because of Michael. Michael had the chance to listen to Linc and head out on the boat and live happily ever after.

reply

Two things usually led to their failures:

1. Their unwillingness to commit murder to cover themselves (T-Bag, Bellick, Mahone, Kim)
2. Their always wanting to help - wanting to do the right thing (they were home free at the end of season 2 if not for Michael)

This is who they are though.

I think its the actor. Dominic Purcell is so bland and monotone in this series. I think the character of Linc is fine and obviously serves a purpose. But the actor is terrible. He doesn't emote, he has two facial expressions, I barely believe him every time he opens his mouth.

Being that you have such great performances on this show (Stormare, Fichtner, Knepper) being the three powerhouses he really sinks on this show. But to be fair Wentworth isn't much better.
