Fading colors.... spoiler, no harm intended

When the big beautifull fish dies, it losts its colors. Life goes away with colors.

What now about the fading colors of the nature, when the tiger dissapears ?

I always thought of it as "the end"; both of the fish's life, and the movie. "The end of the magic," if you will, in both cases.

"This isn't TV, it's real life. Can't you tell the difference?"
"Sure - I just like TV better."

reply

Yes, everywich way it means 'the end', definitely.
Question is, the end of what ?
What is nature, in that story ?
my worst theory (after Lacan)...is that Pi stops being idealistic, the tiger being the metaphor of his aggressiveness... But I am not sure this is good news.

The fantasy is over and reality kicks in.
