Other Japanese films worth seeing

I am starting a thread to list some other Japanese films I feel are worth viewing:

Gozu - written by the same guy that wrote Tokyo Zonbi, lots of morbidness and great humour

Perfect Blue- this is a great anime thriller, the best murder thriller I ever saw, it challenges your perception just enough

Kairo (2001)- a great psychological horror movie of the Japanese mould

Dare mo shiranai- a Japanese mother abandons her children in Tokyo leaving them to fend themselves, leaving the oldest in charge

Ichi the Killer- the quiet man is a killer you cannot understand

Drive (2002) - hilarious comedy, so funny that even with subtitles it is my favorite comedy

I would like others to add some Japanese movies that they think are worth checking out.

I don't know, Japanese films are an acquired taste. So far I only like "safe ones" like Akira Kurosawa films and the ones that have Takeshi Kitano on it. I do love Tony Takitani.
Since we are on Tokyo Zombie board you may want to check out the works of Tadanobu Asano (Mongol and some others are not Japanese production but still worth checking). Particularly Gohatto and Zaitochi (again with Takeshi Kitano). Tadanobu made crazy stuffs that are truly entertaining. He would be a good start. Then linger around Kiyoshiro Kurosawa's (not related to Akira) works. He's slowly becoming my favorite writer/director.

Tale of Two sisters and Acacia - Korean not Japanese
Shutter - Thailand
