World War ONE German grunts weren't Hydra or 'Nazis''; just regular Joes

I don't get why people don't understand this.

If a superhero beats up ordinary Hydra grunts, it's still not particularly heroic (because it's a super-being versus regular guys), but at least you can make a case for it. Because if a person joins Hydra, a known criminal organization, then they are consciously and willingly doing something evil. They kind of have it coming.

But this film is set in World War ONE, not World War Two.

"Nazis" didn't exist yet.

So when Wonder Woman is beating up on the German soldiers, she's just pounding on regular grunts -- ordinary Joes who are just fighting for their country.

In other words, she's using her Superman-level powers to pound on the same type of slobs who served in the British or French or American armies.

It's not just anti-heroic; it makes her look like scum.

DISCLAIMER: I'm saying this as someone who has hated most of the Marvel films and is a die-hard DC fan. I've LOVED the Nolan and Snyder films. (Though Green Lantern was crap.) I WANT this movie to do well. I LIKE this conception of Wonder Woman, the actress, and the costume. (Though I thought she was WAY over-powered in BvS.)

I just don't want the film to be ruined by the bafflingly idiotic and unnecessary element of having a super-powered Wonder Woman beating up on ordinary soldiers just doing their job and fighting for their country.

Maybe she's fighting them because plot circumstances demand it, not because they're the "bad guys".

You're right. She has no stake in either side. Except her boytoy does. So maybe his enemies are her enemies?

I still think it will be plot circumstances that are outside of the normal WWI conflict.

I can see your point, but as of yet, we don't know the main villain will be.

IMO, she should be even more powered. Her power should rival Superman's.

Stupid P'takh!
