Gal Gadot is simply WRONG both in Look and in Speech for Wonder Woman

So after so much time after the news of Gadot's (mis)casting as Wonder Woman, her defenders (who are largely made up of fashion industry fanatics that want androgynous looking women to be as much in the media as possible) kept claiming that either she was completely right for the role as she was or that she will be just fine after she has some "intense" physical training and she will look totally different when all is said and done.

Well, after all was said and done, the truth revealed otherwise. Remember that "Ice Bucket Challenge" trend that was going on sometime back? Gadot participated in it after she filmed her scenes for Batman v Superman. So this is how she actually looked, no special effects, movie make-up or professionally staged photos, that show the results of all that "intense" physical training:

There she is in her noodle arms, chicken legs and her almost completely flat chest glory much to the delight of fashion industry fanatics.

There is a IMDB member who claimed that she looks just like how Wonder Woman does in the New 52 in some thread he/she started. Funny, since this is Wonder Woman in the New 52:

No noodle arms, chicken legs or flat chest to be found.

And even in those cases where some artist did draw Wonder Woman as some anorexic fiend, it doesn't prove anything because there are artists who get it wrong like when Rob Liefeld did this infamous drawing of Captain America:

Just because Rob Liefeld did Captain America with that bizarre looking upper body doesn't mean that's how he should be in a live action movie.

And that's not all. Her having that thick Israeli accent is simply inappropriate for Wonder Woman. Anyone who says it's great because Wonder Woman isn't American so it "makes sense" only gives away their ignorance of Wonder Woman from the actual comics. You see, Wonder Woman is not supposed to have an accent. One of Wonder Woman's gifts is language and she can learn to speak any language fluently like a native speaker. This is why in the comic books and every single animated and live action adaptation of Wonder Woman prior to this one she has always spoken with an American accent. She has the ability to do that with English and any language. This is how she was even able to have a dual identity and one point and the reason she is the representative of her land in international affairs. Having an actress with a foreign accent play Wonder Woman is a senseless betrayal of that unique characteristic of her persona.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is one of the worst casting decisions in Hollywood and proof of the unfortunate influence of the fashion industry over mainstream media.

Lol^. So I guess I must be one of the elite fashion fanatics because I stand against attention seeking trolls who hae no idea what they are talking about? So instead of attacking your claims one by one (which they are all baseless anyways) let's try something new. Why dont you just stay away and not see the movie???

reply

But then the trolls won't get attention.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

reply

Trolls are like weeds, pull out one another grows in its place.

reply

That's when you buy weed killer.

reply

Going by your accent logic, Wonder Woman should actually be speaking with an English accent.

reply

Or a neutral American one. An Israeli accent is very heavy-sounding. No doubt I'll now be attacked for being an 'anti-Semite'. 

A right-wing VP? Ouch.

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing .

reply

If we take it even further I don´t get why even speaks English

reply

Gal wet. Very nice. Need to put that in the next film.

RE: the accent. I've followed the development of many adaptations of long books, book series, and long running comic books with a lot of lore behind them. and I have seen countless statements of fans opining about minor elements being essential, that cannot be omitted. And a lot of those things are.

There's not a director on the planet who would place WW's accent as a high priority if her English is good enough so as not to interfere with her performance. If they had cast a British actress and she felt more comfortable using her native accent, I'd be fine with it. The magical ability to speak perfect Midwestern English is very low on my list of priorities for WW, because you NEVER get all of what you want in an adaptation.

reply

After all of that, all I have to say is...um, nope.

reply

I've been expecting you to troll about this. I remember all your idiocy about Nadja Bjorlin being the only right candidate in the world for WW and anyone who disagreed to be ignorant. That's why I am sooooo glad that you didn't get what you want.

Gal Gadot wasn't my first choice or even on my radar for the role, but she's been awesome in the role and has just enough muscle for the role, not looking like Chynna. Your posting of an old GIF before she trained for the role shows just how weak your "argument" is and always has been.

And your harping over the fashion industry just shows that you have an ax to grind. You know where you can shove it.

Nadia would have been a good choice though. What was so great about Gal's performance? Honestly there are actresses that could have given a better performance that actually are better suited for the role.

That ice Bucket Challenge was like almost a year after getting cast? Results like that are kinda pathetic don't you think? Even now as of 2016 she does not look much different even in this film.

So she looks the same here: http://freebeacon.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Gal-Gadot.gif as here: https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--JVo9-rnh--/c_scale,fl_progressive,q_80,w_800/gcucdzhdwezilt6scorn.jpg
If you believe that, then get your eyes checked.

Odd that many people say that she was the only bright spot in BvS, wouldn't you say?

Stupid P'takh!

reply

All that after two years? Come on that's nothing

I honestly was not impressed, like I said other actresses could have done better

It's where it needs to be.

She doesn't need to be and shouldn't be bulgy.

Stupid P'takh!

reply

That publicity still isn't even real. It's been photo-shopped to death and even then she looks too skinny.

WE GOT MOVIE SIIIIIGN!

reply

BS. It's just as she appears in the movie and if that amount of muscle isn't good enough for you, good!



All true, but still better than no Wonder Woman at all, I guess.

Alexandra Daddario should have been Wonder Woman, 100%

"Let them fight."

reply

Daddario does have the right sort of figure and the blue eyes, but she always has this stunned look on her face that would be totally wrong for the part.

Gadot isn't the greatest actress, but she did have an air of complete openness and fearlessness. She managed to project the extraordinary confidence of someone who's never been afraid of anything or experienced real unkindness, and that's what made the character work. I admit I haven't seen Daddario in many roles, but I haven't seen her do anything like that, and I think she tried in the "Percy Jackson" thing I saw the other day.
