No wonder actors generally refuse to do gay roles! Everytime an actor plays a gay man, some stupid idiot posts a "is he gay" on the message boards. It's called ACTING for christ sake. You people really need to grow up, get a life, and soon. Even if he were gay or bi, it's none of your business (or mine for that matter). How would you like it if people were asking the very same question behind your back?

Let's see, Robin Williams has been a genie, robot, alien, gay man, english teacher, caveman, cross-dressing dad, doctor, king of the moon, air conditioning salesman, boy who grew up in a jungle, man with a boy's mind, sailor who eats spinach, what else? After portraying all of these roles, is he close to being one of them?
Is he a mechanical, wish-granting, poetry-reading, cave-dwelling, a/c selling, lunar sovereign, from another galaxy who happens to be homosexual? Come on, this only proves he is a great actor. Besides, we can never really tell if an actor is gay until we have definite proof or if he admits it.
Take for instance Sir Ian McKellen. He is a fantastic actor. People who have not heard of him before X-men or Lord of the Rings would assume he's heterosexual but he came out of the closet long before those two films. He was a powerful, intellegent, evil mutant in X-men and he didn't look gay. In fact, he seemed like sadistic s.o.b. bent on killing humans.
Oh yeah, and let's avoid going religious in this matter. I mean really, if religious doctrines were written by homosexuals, we'd be on the receiving end(no pun intended).
The measure of an actor or actress is in his/her acting career. The measure of a person is in his/her personal life.
Robin Williams suffers from mental problems like Manic Depression and stuff like that that's why he acts like that really flamboyantly crazy doing weird stuff.
It has always been his thing.....It never once crossed my mind that he is gay. Did it come by my mind that he was off his rails, YES COMPLETELY.

He has played other gay characters..usually as flaming offensive stereotypes.
In Mrs. Doubtfire, Robin acted like a gay person, like he joked around by saying that he used to be a male. His character in the film was kinda like a pedophile, he was looking at teenage girls at the pools in a sexual way.

I do a lot of stage acting and have had to portray gay characters before, but i am not gay. Playing a gay man does not make one gay.
Secondly a close friend of mine in high school was shocked to find out at the age of 16 that his father, who had been married to his mother almost 20 years, had been a closet homosexual all that time, so being married with children does not make one straight.
Regardless, the very stupidity of this topic almost merited not posting a replay but here i am once again educating the ignorant.
