Everything is dark and creepy. I think some visual effects guy pressed the wrong button and sold the idea. How can a sane person produce something like this? And its taking place in a time without current pollution and such. Jesus. Some dark scenes are ok but the whole movie looking like a chimney sweeper working the night is just retarded.
shareLOL. So true. I call it the UNDERWORLD look. It does look like hell, in both meanings. It LOOKS like hell and IT LOOKS LIKE HELL.
It's also very 300 in that. That movie though was able to break free by going outdoors.
I don't like the feeling of these kinda flicks, mostly because they're very CGI limited and extremely contained and claustrophobic. There's no escape or break from it. Gut... somehow it's a popular look for films. It's very Heavy Metal.
But I think calling it UNDERWORLD has always suited me and that's funny you pointed this out. I'm five minutes in and really feel like I owe Lucifer a month's rent.
