why should 'true Beatles fans' not like it?

If you claim to love the Beatles and to "get them" then you should like this film. Not only that but Paul and Ringo liked it, if they hadn't they wouldn't have put on airs and graces and just been nice to Julie. It's a jukebox musical, they haven't taken anything away from the original songs they have just tweaked and bent there meaning to fit the story. Not to say that our interpretations are right and the films are wrong though because that is the point of the songs, for us to take what we want from them, Strawberry fields forever may mean something totally different to you than it does to me but it doesn't matter as long as it means something. I'm getting a tattoo of "tomorrow may rain so I'll follow the sun", I don't know why I like the lyric I just do, I don't know what I'd say Blackbird means but it moves me and I love the song. Some bits of the movie aren't great but overall I think it is a wonderful film and I think George and John would have liked it too. So please be kind and don't say people aren't true fans just because you didn't like it, it doesn't mean they are less of a fan it just means it spoke to them in a way it didn't speak to you.

I just don't like it because I think it's a terrible movie.
