George 'Iceman' Chambers(Undisputed 2) vs. Ivan Drago(Rocky4)

so who do you think would win?

reply

Where the hell is everybody!?

reply

If it were the character personas, Ivan Drago would wipe the floor with Iceman. His 2000PSI punch would decimate chambers, and he is actually pretty agile for a big guy.

Now if it was the actors, say Dolph Lundgren vs. Michael Jai... it would be a very hard call. Considering both were in their prime (i think dolph is like 10 yrs older than white), I have no idea whom i should bet for. Their both 2 of my favourite martial arts actors.

White is a also a champ in kyokushin kai and a blck belt in several other martial arts, whatch the bonus feature on Universal soldier 2

OMG . . the question is about the characters, not the actors
Ivan Drago is practiacally a super soldier
george isn't his a brilliant boxer, who was beaten *in character* in number one by somebody who doesn't seem to be as good as Apollo . . who ivan killed

nuff said Ivan owns

reply

Chambers learned MMA in prison, he'd kill Rocky, and he's faster than Ivan. I'd bet on Iceman.

reply

Drago! Drago! Drago! Ivan Drago would KILL George "Iceman" Chambers just like he killed Apollo Creed. Neither version of Iceman (Ving Rhames and Michael Jai White) would stand a chance!

reply

Lundgren.

ya i would also say DRAGO. he is alot bigger and stronger.

reply

Iceman weighs 5 pounds less than Drago but is faster and doesn't fight toe to toe like Rocky. More like Ali vs Foreman. Iceman wins!

reply

Hmmm, very hard to decide-Drago lost to Rocky and Iceman lost to Monroe Hutchens,so both of them ain't so superior after all.

Well,I think that that fight will last for sure and after that Iceman stands victorious but not without bruises.

reply

I guess the question is; Which George Chambers, Ving or MJW's? Would Monroe have beaten MJW's Chambers and make it believable? MJW and Dolph are about the same weight, it's like Shaq vs Yow Ming.
Funny thing is, Snipes and Sly fought each other in Demolition Man, MJW fought Van Dam in Universal Soldier 2, who fought Dolph in Universal 1, and MJW played Soldier #2 in that same movie. I say: TAG TEAM MMA rules!...MJW and Van Dam vs. Ving and Snipes! Winner take all!

reply

pshhh, MMA fighters would almost always take the cake against boxers of their same weight in a fight...in a boxing match, maybe not but all out fighting, mma would dominate...id take the real iceman chuck liddel over any boxer of his weight...ivan drago would get hurt by chambers...he couldnt beat rocky even

reply

well youre wrong because boxers have gone into mma and have won

If Drago hits nearly as hard as "rocky IV" depicts, there is nothing on this planet that could sustain a blow like that. However, when it comes down to the size and strength of Dolph or Michael Jai, I can comment on Michael Jai. I had the privilage of meeting him. Now, I'm 6'1" and they say he is 6'2" but it surely felt as though he towered over me. And as far as strenght goes, Michael's size is redonkulous! I'm a personal trainer, and I will say without a doubt that Michael has a lot of purpose built muscle. When I say purpose built, I mean that he can apply his strength to the real world, and if you've ever associated with any body builders, you'd know how impressive it is to be Michaels size and have his agility , speed, and strength. I've seen "Rocky IV" Many times, and to be 6'4" and have the structure of Dolph is impressive, but overall, Michael has much more lean mass and I gurantee that in the weight room, Michael would be much more explosive and much more powerful. Michael is an intimidating man to be standing next to and his build is a dream. I can't really comment on who would win in the fictional match of Chambers vs. Drago, but I can say that Michael Jai is the superior physical specimen and has a stronger MMA as well as Boxing backround being familiar with the styles of Roy jones Jr. and James Toney. If Michael Jai White had a stronger dramatic screen presence, he would definately be the next great action star.

The Iceman would win without any problem.

See, Ivan Drago, like all boxers in the Rocky movies, is incapable of blocking a punch. He just doesn't know how. The concept is completely alien to him. He's also very slow and graceless, with almost no real footwork at all. His fighting technique is nothing but throwing sloppy roundhouse punches and letting himself get hit in the head. Against Apollo Creed, Drago's style is good enough, but any fighter who can block a punch has a distinct advantage.

reply

That's the problem No one in Rocky has ANY DEFENSE. Just like Lights Out. They all got titanium chins and no D. Eventually, Chambers would destroy Ivan because Ivan can't avoid a punch to save his life. He also has terrible movement. Look at Brock Lesnar, he's a great fighter but he can't stan with people. His defense is poor and that's still 100 times better than Ivan's. It's not even close, Drago get dropped.

At just boxing probably Drago since nobody not even chambers can punch that hard but in a street or MMA fight I think Chambers would have the better grappling skill and the all around better martial arts skills though drago would have the edge in size and strength.

I say: Boxing match: Drago but Chambers puts up a much better fight than the over the hill Apollo Creed did and probably does not die just gets knocked out and in an MMA fight probably Chambers (though it would be close).

reply

This shouldn't even be a question. Drago would just sweep the floor with Iceman.. And he won't even be able to do anything about it..

Drago's skinny little self would get decimated by the Iceman. It's not even up for debate.

reply

Drago stomps. You guys say he has no defence but frankly he doesn't need it. Chambers could wail on Drago throughout and he would never put him down. Likewise Drago would beat the tar out of Chambers who isn't ridiculously durable.

The only reason Rocky even beat him is for his renowned iron jaw and his sheer determination to win to avenge Apollo that meant he never gave up.

Chambers has neither advantage going for him.

reply

This is a weight game and Drago just doesn't have the size to go toe-to-toe with the Iceman.

reply

Michael Jai White is 6"1 and 210-215 pound likewise Dolph Lundgren is 6"5 and was said to be 261 pound in Rocky IV so he wins there.

Not that it matters because these are fictional boxers and Drago is almost superhuman and Chambers isn't.

reply

Yet, Drago's inability to block a punch will leave him knocked out in the 2nd round.

reply

It wouldn't matter because again he has superhuman durability to the point the world heavyweight champion wailed him for 15 rounds and only put him down once in the last minute.

It was explained in Rocky IV that the average heavyweight boxer punches at 700 psi. Drago punches at 2150 psi which would kill any boxer within a few punches so Chambers would be lucky to even stay alive for 1 minute.

reply

No, it doesn't matter what his 2150 psi is because Rocky was able to survive 15 rounds with him while not blocking a single punch of his. To say that he has superhuman durability would be saying that Rocky also has superhuman durability by taking all those punches. He doesn't have any kind of superhuman ability, he can just punch really hard. The Iceman with his muscular punching power and stamina would implode Drago with a single punch. Since Drago can't block punches he'd be out for the count because I guarantee you the Iceman can punch a lot harder than Rocky. Rocky cut Drago with a single punch. The Iceman would put him into a coma with one punch.

reply

Rocky DOES have superhuman durability, Drago even says he's like a piece of iron.

It's more than punching really hard, no human can punch that hard. Let me quote another article.

"A study of 70 boxers found elite-level fighters could punch with an average of 776 pounds of force."

"Another study of 23 boxers showed elite fighters were able to punch more than twice as hard as novices, the hardest hitter generating almost 1,300 pounds of force."

"An oft-cited 1985 study of Frank Bruno, who’d go on to be World Boxing Council heavyweight champ, showed he could punch with a force of 920 pounds in the lab. Researchers extrapolated that to a real-life blow of 1,420 pounds, enough to accelerate his opponent’s head at a rate of 53 g—that is, 53 times the force of gravity."

"If a punch thrown by Rocky IV villain Ivan Drago is supposed to measure 2,150 psi and his glove’s impact area is something like four square inches, he’d be exerting a force of 8,600 pounds, or more than four tons. Based on the professional literature, no boxer in real life comes anywhere close to that."

There it is so Ivan Drago punches with six times more force than a real life World Champion known for his punching power. Nobody could take a few punches of that and survive in real life. You'd have better luck surviving a sledge hammer to the face.

Chambers is not a real life boxer but his abilities weren't superhuman and would die just the same. He might have the strength to eventually put Drago down like Rocky but unlike Rocky would never last more than a few seconds.
