What would you name your 10 or 8 kids?!

If you are a man and you had 8 kids (6 boys and 2 girls), then what would you name them? Or if you're a woman and had 10 kids (5 boys and 5 girls), then what would you name them?

Since I'm a woman, I would name my 10 kids the follow names:

For Boys

1.Drake Rex
2.Trent Patrick
3.Dante Raphael
4.Westley Oleander
5.Stevo Cupid

For Girls

1.Tiger Lily
2.Skye Jane
3.Scarlett Jade
4.Zoe Victoria
5.Vivien Leigh

AHHH Zepplinchick you stole my girl name, I've always loved Anastasia, but I've always liked it said Anast(AH)sia instead of a long (A) sound. Anyway seeing as how my mom always wanted a girl named Ashley Nicolle I got named that, but unfortunately the year I was born both names were tremendously popular and together they were the most popular names given to a girl (though I am rather proud of the unique spelling of my middle name seeing as I haven't seen anyone use it here yet).
Anyway here goes:
Girls-
1)Anastasia Noelle
2)Katarina Victoria
3)Meghann Simone (my sister)
4)Gretchen Lenay (twin #1)
5)Grecian Laney (twin #2)
6)Leslee Zara (my sister)
Boys-
1)Aron Michael (my dad and bro) [twin #1]
2)Sydney Kane (my grandpa)
3)Andru Stahl (my grandfather)
4)Matthew Zane [twin #2]
5)Brendan James

I'm also very fond of the name my cousin picked for her daughter Oasis Sobriety but I thought that was cruel. Plus the names a lot of you picked were great; they went on my names of such cute baby names. Loved Sienna, Emma, Brooklyn, Riley, Bailey, Delaney.

I loved Seth, Nathan, Caleb, Zander (spelled with an X) Luke, Ryder, Shawn, Aidan, Jonah, Chandler, and Cole.

Ugh, I cannot believe how many people want to give their kids these nauseating made-up names. I would die before I named my child something cutesy like Skylie or Jayden or Landyn. Basically I shudder at the thought of naming my child anything that has a Y in the middle, ends in -ie or -i, is deliberately misspelled, indicates the opposite gender, or resembles cars or other objects. I also would avoid using names of people in pop culture. I like Bible names but many of them are overused, hard to pronounce, or have strange associations (Jemima or Dinah for instance). I would most likely use simple foreign names, or traditional names that are beautiful, but have fallen out of common use. So they could be the only one in the class with that name, but people could still pronounce and spell it with little trouble.

Girls:
Jolanda (J pronounced like Y)
Leona
Cora
Grace
Safira

Boys:
Martin
Alfred
Conrad
Lyle
Felix

I don't undertand you Americans! Why not use plain English names? I'm French Canadian and all my kids have plain (but still modern) beautiful French names. Why not stick to your own culture? Culture is SO important to your identity! By culture I mean English, French, Spanish, Italian etc. Why do people insist that the given names of kids does not match their family name. Our whole society has gone haywire!

Future genealogists are going to pull their hair out with the types of names that are given children these days! Or they'll just plain laugh at the names. They'll think "Can you imagine going through life with THAT name?" or "That name may have been cute as a baby but can you imagine a granparent with that name?" Reminds me of Sony & Cher's daughter Chastity. Can you imagine an 80 year old lesbian lady called Chastity? YUK!!! Discusting and disturbing!!! Poor old lady!!! Well you'd be doing the same thing to your kids if you named them some of the names you want!

Wake up people! Names are for eternity. Nothing to take lightly!!!

Well, America was made from many different cultures, so I really do consider many different countries part of my cultural heritage, even though my ancestors are mostly from England and Denmark. I read books and see movies that are set in these countries, as well as my own, and I have visited many countries, and met people from all over the world. I wouldn't inflict an ugly or silly name on my child, and I agree that "virtue" names must be annoying to have. I know a lady named Joy who is the grumpiest thing ever, and I have to wonder if her name played some part in that. Joy is a very pretty name, but it's only associated with one emotion, and people are more complex.

But I think it's neat to have a name that's pretty unique, and has a story behind it, or a special person attached to it. They should have positive associations. I would never name my child Callie, because that's the name of a girl who picked on me in school, but I love my niece's Russian name, Ksenia, because her dad lived in Russia for a few years and met someone by that name. I agree that culture is important to someone's identity, but for me, culture is a fluid and inclusive thing. Just because I'm American doesn't mean I can't appreciate Scandinavian art or Hebrew music, and doesn't mean I have to give my children typical, boring American names like Mike or Josh or Jessica.

I prefer short names to long, because then they don't get shortened into something weird. Here are some other names I have come to love, but don't see everyday:

Hazel
Helena
Autumn
Viola
Beryl
Anise

Stuart
Leland
Miles
Luther
Lloyd
