Spoilers...about Wiglaf

At the end, do you think he continued the cycle by mating with Grendel's mother?

My opinion is no, he doesn't. From the very beginning of the movie, Wiglaf is shown to be loyal, decent soldier with no desire for fame or a kingdom. I think earlier in the film Grendel's mother referred to Beowulf having the glamour needed to king. Wiglaf's character doesn't scream glamour or vanity.

I think he did the dirty with her.

I would think Wiglaf learned the lesson from Beowulf NOT to give into the temptation, but theres no doubt that theres others that will.

I think thats the message of the story and thats what the ending symbolizes. the temptation to sell out and get what you want through unethical means (and then pay a huge price for it) will always exist for men.

I loved this movie. Hadnt seen it till it came on tv this week. and its very underrated imo.

I think that Wiglaf would peg her in the face with the dragon cup, get killed, have the entire kingdom destroyed, and then grendel's mom would go seduce some other king.

Life just isn't fun without demonspawn.

I was hoping that he'd figure out in order to stop her, he'd have to take the ruby out of the golden dragon figure's neck the same way Beowulf had to stab the real golden dragon in the necklace. After all, the figure was the big bargaining chip (along with giving her a son), so it would have been fitting.

However, with the tone of the overall film, how someone strong and brave like Beowulf was just as weak to the succubus as someone as weak and into debaucheries as Hrothgar, how Wiglaf constantly denied Beowulf's truth for honor (more like a shallow need to uphold an image in order to continue respecting him), I think Wiglaf's end was no different than those before him.

is there a tale of Wiglaf??

For me it's not a question of whether he resisted or not, in my mind, he resisted. The question I wonder is whether he killed her or not, because if he didn't, there would be many other Kings who would fall into her temptation.
