Why Did Silas's Wife Hate Nancy?

She was very rude to Nancy in the last episodes. She wouldn't let her hold the baby and she wouldn't even converse with Nancy. Why? Did she feel Nancy was a terrible mother to Silas?

reply

I think because she hated what she did to his childhood. Thought it was kind of unnecessary plot device for the finale.

reply

I agree.

Yes it seemed superfluous to me as well. Especially since Silas told Megan everything that happened when they first returned to Agrestic. After seeing her in the museum they had a lengthy talk where he explained everything that happened in her absence. Then later at the wedding Megan sees Nancy and is nothing but friendly and kind. She knew everything there was to know at that point, and yet her character has a total change of heart by the second part of the finale. Seemed very unnecessary since she should have been pissed from the start once Silas told her the whole story.

Not letting Nancy hold her grandchild was too much. I mean seriously screw off and be an adult!

As a matter of fact I hated how everyone treated Nancy in the finale. Except for Shane and Andy (he earned that right to up one her).

Everyone else? Get over it, they all blindly followed her like sheep anyways. You know what? They loved every minute of it.

So their condescending smirks pissed me off to no end. Silas and Megan sucked.

I agree. It was too much. If it weren't for Nancy and her dealings, Silas wouldn't have ended up a millionaire in the end. As screwed up as that sounds, they all left the series living a comfortable life. They all have Nancy to thank for that.

Somewhere in the last few episodes Megan told Silas to get his mom to make the deal so they would make all that money. He said he wasn't sure he could do that. That seems to be what the upset was. She knew Nancy when Silas was a teenager and she didn't seem to have anything against her.

She said she resented the way Silas grew up and believes it to be Nancy's fault. I don't like all my in laws, but I smiled, and let them hold my babies even when I couldn't stand them. Its called being an adult.
What did you do, Ray?

reply

Nancy was despised because all she did was use people, plus she was a horrlble person.

except Silas wasnt a part of her using people at all. I dont buy the "Nancy" gave silas a horrible child hood. Silas had a great childhood. He turns 16 in season one and he blackmails his mom into buying him a car. His mom who just lost a husband. Calls her by her first name. She didnt drag him into the weed business. Silas was already smoking weed and doing harder drugs WITH Megan as his enabler. Silas is practically an adult. He refuses to even apply for college when she told him too. If anything Andy and Silas are far worse users than Nancy. Nancy even tells Silas to run away to europe where she'll give him an open account and jsut fill it with money. How is she "using" him?

The only person who deserves to be upset with Nancy is Shane. And frankly, Shane should be upset with all of them Silas included. They ruined his childhood and turned him into a sociopath.

Nancy deserverd far worse Treatment.

Megan was really the only person who was not taken in by Nancy's endless *beep*

!!!deleted!!! (28128673), Megan is a childish and ignorant individual. A decent adult would have understood the wisdom in Silas's approach and supported his choice to leave the past in the past and move forward without hate or resentment.

And by the way, jarn2004, Shane was a sociopath from the beginning. We really don't know to what degree the fault lies with Nancy and/or with Judah.
