TS Original 'Changed Future' Cut

I’ll never not be annoyed by the changes made to SALVATION after shooting. What was supposed to explore the idea that changing the future in T2 had real consequences and may have made things worse became “Here’s the Future War without a war or stakes.” Blah.

You're talking about the planned "John Connor dies and our real hero guy is a cyborg wearing his skin" thing, right? I feel like that only would have worked if they specified that the original was alive in the previous version of the future and wasn't always someone in disguise.

That was the ending but there was a whole running thread (that was filmed) of John being reckless because he learned the day he died in T3 and thought he couldn’t be killed before then.

The trouble with SALVATION is that it was built around these things — “no fate but what we make” is a double-edged sword. But when you cut them out to make the film more entry level, you’ve gutted its reason for being and what’s left has no impact.
