Least favourite designer ever...?

For me, my least favourite designer out if all the seasons was Ken Laurence of season twelve. He was horrible. His designs were subpar, but his attitude was disgusting. Telling people to not even looking at him, smirking when his team was losing (because he wanted to cut his teammates down even if it made him look bad too), and cutting people off repeatedly telling them to stop talking because was going to talk. He is, in my opinion, garbage. What nerve to talk to people like that!

reply

I thought the same thing during his regular season, but he really redeemed himself during his All-Stars season. He definitely deserves credit for that, and it really reflected in his work as well.

reply

Thanks. I haven't seen the All Stars version yet. I'll have to look into it.

reply

Be sure to also watch for Sam Donovan that season and his penchant for taking credit for other designers' ideas without acknowledging them and his constant (and cringeworthy) flirting with the judges.

reply

EVER? Hmmm... Gretchen is up there. That Oliver guy. Ven.

reply

Great choices!

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

reply

What odd choices. Ven and Oliver created aome of the most stunning looks on their season.

reply

Patricia! Her designs were just awful and looked like arts and crafts projects. And Gretchen.

reply

I didn't like THEM.

reply

I'm curious to see what you consider good taste, then.

reply

Anya, I thought her astetic was very one note and basic, and the favoritism she recieved during her season was really obnoxious.

reply

Eww. I know. I'll never for the life of me understand how a whole collection of maxi dresses won. I didn't like Gretchen or her collection but I would've picked her collection over Anya's.

My top 3 most disliked designers in order are Gretchen, Helen, and Korina. It was a hard toss up deciding who was worse between Korina and Helen, but considering I've seen Helen on both Runway and Allstars that gave me a better (or worse, if you will) perspective of her.

I also did not like Elena but she sort of redeemed herself during her stint on Allstars.

reply

I forgot to mention I didn't like Wendy Pepper, either.

reply

In addition to those who have already been mentioned...

Keith Michael from Season 3 is up there... snotty, arrogant and BUSTED for having pattern making books in his possession.

Mitchell from Season 6... not sure how he even survived his first two challenges (bottom two both times: I would have eliminated him over Ari in the first challenge... at least her geodesic bubble pumpkin had some thought and design elements to it, and the only thing that saved his sorry ass for that horrendous maternity outfit he created was Malvin's even more bizarre "chicken egg" concept). At least Heidi got it right... three strikes, you're out!

Jesse Lenoir (season 7)... bad attitude, refused to work at all with Ping during their paired challenge and totally threw her under the bus.

reply

People forgot the king of the sleaze-balls with his tacky designs; Daniel Franco was eliminated 3 times over 2 seasons and 1 All-Stars! Why? He literally gave Heidi "the creeps!" 

reply

Daniel Franco is a wacko! I honestly don't know how to feel about him. I don't know whether to hate him or push him off a bridge because he annoys me.

reply

Oh Korina. Yes. I blocked her out.

reply

Anytime the episode comes on where she gets eliminated I make sure I watch it. I can't tell you how many times I've watched that episode and cackled at her for being stupid enough to backtalk Nina. They probably would've kept her if that hadn't happened.

reply

Anya also showed what a true snot she was on Under the Gunn. As did Mondo, who hasn't done any real designing since he won All Stars and seems to be more interested in extending his 15 minutes of fame ad infinitum.

I'd like to be a pessimist, but this is a luxury I cannot afford.—Joseph of Cordoba

reply

Are you considering only winners of each season? Or any designer who has competed on the show, even if they only lasted a couple of episodes?

reply

Anya and Gretchen hands down. There were others I didn't necessarily care for but I couldn't believe either of these two actually won their respective seasons. Although if I had to pick one it would have to be Anya (did she actually ever "design" anything other than maxi dresses??)

reply

Anya If her muu-muus were that good, then why did she have to stuff the ballot box, by flooding her island with pre-paid cell phones so they could mass vote for her.

Ivy Higa
Gretchen Jones
Korina Emmerich
Ken Laurence

The last four were certifiably BATS!

I do hope he won't upset Henry...

reply

I forgot about Ivy. I could not stand her attitude. When I rewatch that season I actually prefer Gretchen to Ivy because she's just so hateful for no reason.

reply

I would say Gretchen for sure but I'd also put Santino from season two and Jeffrey from season three as runners up.

Al - Alicia
An - Andrew
Jo - Joseph
Be - Benjamin

reply

Santino and Jeffrey. Goodness I loathed Jeffrey. And I thought Santino was such a jerk.
Consequently, I loved Santino on the show he had with Austin.

reply

Leeanne, 'the waves' idiot.
