One of the worst documentaries I had ever seen.

I'll admit, it had a lot of good information in it. The evidence they had in the film, most of it could be debunked. It was really flashy, trying to make you jump during the film, even though it was just trying to informative. It was just a hollywood douchebag trying to make a hollywood documentary.

If you're really interested in this film and all the stories, watch the episode of Ghost Hunters where they go to this place. It gives you a lot of great info and some real haunting evidence, not just possible photoshopped/hard to see pictures.

When I was younger I fancied myself somewhat of a film critic. If it didn't fit my definition of "cool" or "realistic" or intelligent, I dissed it. Now that I'm older, I have developed a tendency to try and evaluate the content of the movie strictly as opposed to the 'candy' that most movies are made up of.
That 65,000 people died of this horrendous disease is a disaster in itself. It's a great grave loss of life and happiness for both the victim and families.
Whatever you think of the style or lack thereof, I credit Sci-Fi channel and this movie for bringing to the spotlight a dark and sad place in history. Many of the local witnesses seemed sincere, and the halls of the hospital today and old pictures were of themselves very scary. The way the people lived and hung partially out a window for 'fresh air' was sad and spooky too.
Thanks much to everyone involved with this project for bringing it to light. Regardless of what everyone thinks of the production, it taught us valuable lessons on life, medical advancement, and perhaps a bit of supernatural too.

I wouldn't call it "one of the worst documentaries" I've ever seen by any stretch, but yeah a bit of it was repititious and some of the editing was sort of silly. But if you didn't know anything about the old building or had watched and enjoyed the movie Death Tunnel (as hard as that might be) and wanted to learn more, it's not a bad little documentary. Not horrible, not great. I gave it a 5/10.

Yep I agree, we watched some of it today but turned it off mid way coz we just couldn't keep going.

Subject matter was great, would have loved some more info about this place, but it terms of production this was poorly done. Too many effects, too much text on the screen every time a scene changed. I was just too distracted with effects.

What a shame ...

I saw Children of the Grave first and although that one was fake and had some bad elements as well I still liked it. When I saw there was another one from the same people I thought "hey why not watch" especially because Waverly is an actual famous haunted place. But this was the worst crap I have ever seen! The paranormal activity was so fake it was laughable; and that was if there was even any paranormal showed. Most of it was stupid ghost stories of people being touched or thinking they saw something out of the corner of their eyes. The EVPs were the worst I have ever heard as were the pictures of ghosts; and dont even get me started on the orbs.
The best thing about this documentary was learning the history of Waverely and how life was for the people who lived there while they had TB and how desperate the doctors were to save them.
I was very disappointed and I give this one an F. Watch Ghost Hunters or the Scariest Places on Earth episode where Waverly was featured.

I don't care if you call me crazy...because the voices in my head tell me I'm just fine
