Crazy none of the female led cast has gone to bigger things.

Loved this film and the chemistry between all the women was great. The film was a success and critical acclaimed but not one of the cast has really gone onto anything that's been top tier. Really surprised at least one or two didn't go onto successful Hollywood careers. I always thought Natalie Mendoza and Shauna McDonald would have gone to bigger things.

MyAnna Buring as Sam, is probably the best known for me as she's done some good character roles since The Descent (which was her first major film role, not a bad start). Some good work on her C.V, another British modern day horror classic in Kill List, Downtown Abbey, the underrated British crime film Hyena, Ripper Street and the last two Twilight Films. Not a star but she's still working in film and Tv on a regular basis.

Shauna McDonald as Sarah, The Descent seems to be her most well known work. Before the film, she did star in a bit of TV and the odd film role. And After The Descent, it's been the same. Her best known work would probably be Mutant Chronicles in 2008, which she's way down the casting list. Was in Filth with James McAvoy and had a role in Giuseppe Tornatore film (director of Cinema Paradiso) with Jeremy Iron's called Correspondence . Also came back for Descent 2. Had a small part in The Last Jedi. I thought she was one for sure that would have gone onto a better career then she's had.

Natalie Mendoza as Juno. I really thought she would have been the break out star from the cast. But aside from The Descent and it's sequel and a role on BBC show Hotel Babylon, nothing else of note on her C.V. Aside the odd TV role, She seems more into music and Theatre and came back on the news during the whole Harvey Weinstein scandal stuff. Shame as she had the most potential to be a star.

Saskia Mulder as Rebecca, was slightly older then the rest of the cast and had been acting since the early 90's. Her most noted work before The Descent was Danny Boyle/Leo DiCaprio film The Beach. Also a nice little role in underrated UK comedy show The Book Group, well worth checking out. She was 32 at the time of The Descent, while most of the other cast would be early to mid 20's. So her career slowed down and her last acting role was The Descent 2 in 2009.

Nora Jane Noone as Holly, along with Buring did the sequel and the only two actresses from the cast to work with Neil Marshall on Doomsday. She made a splash in Peter Mullan's harrowing The Magdalene Sisters, so she was probably the best known of the cast at that time. She went on to have a part on Coronation Street for a year, had a role in TV crime show Jack Taylor, and had a role in Brooklyn with Saoirse Ronan. She's still knocking out lower budget work and is still working to this day, so that's a success. Was the youngest of the cast at 21.

Alex Reid as Beth, was probably known for her role on Ross Kemp TV show Ultimate Force at the time of The Descent. She had a small role in the underseen British film Last Orders (2001) with Michael Caine, Bob Hoskins, Ray Winestone and Helen Mirren. After The Descent, I probably noticed her in a episode of BBC's Life On Mars. Misfit's on Channel 4. Beside that she's mostly been on TV in small roles.

Did you expect anyone from the cast to have bigger careers, listen most of them are still working actresses and still work but did you expect any of the cast to go onto big careers.
