The commercials made it look like horror, but it is a mystery/drama film. After seeing it's bad reviews, I was not expecting much, but it is a very good thriller. It is slow, yes, but the final revelation is worth it. It also has very beautiful cinematography. I found it a lot better than The Grudge

i agree, the movie has such a good atmosphere, the mood is simply dreamlike, i loved it when i saw it a few years back. Gotta check how it nowadays.

Wow. THIS steaming pile is your definition of a perfect film? The only way I could see having this opinion is if the only other movies you've ever seen are the "*fill in the blank* Movie" movies, like "Epic Movie" for example.

I also agree. This is a movie that keeps haunting me, I can't 4get it. I love this movie!!! It is an expertly crafted story!! I really wish that Adam Sussman would write more scripts!!
shareI agree. I don't get the low rating at all. 4.8? Come on. I thought it was good. Not a masterpiece, but not every movie has to be. It was good enough. I found it absorbing, it held my attention, it kept my interest. What was so bad about it?

I thought the juxtaposition, overlapping of Joanna and Bella in the recreation of the crime was well done.
