Pisses me off every time...

The way Esplen wins at the end. I mean, come on! How is that allowed? Hiding in the bushes? To me, that kills the spirit of LAIRE. Why would someone even want to win that way? It tells me that all she cared about what was the stupid superficial title of "Queen" and didn't truly enjoy the experience and camaraderie of LAIRE. Augie's blinded by love and tells her that it was really good strategy when he should have called her out on that B.S. I hope he gets over Esplen real quick. She doesn't deserve him and will only break his heart eventually. Dump that dumb bitch Augie!!

I was irritated too the way she won. Why even play if you are going to hide, let everyone else do the work and then walk up to the winner acting like you are going to congratulate him just so you can cheap shot him? Total bullshyt.

Thank you! I came on here to post the exact same thing but you'd beaten me to it! I love the movie but that bit pisses me off so much! She cheats and expects everyone to be fine with it because she smiles and bats her eyelids? NO! What a bitch!

I came here for the exact same reason! I've seen this movie several times and she always pisses me off. That's so cheating! She's off hiding in the bushes and everyone else is fighting to win? And in the past she'd seen Augie completely embarrassed by the King in front of everyone, yet she takes away his win after killing the King? (for the second time) Ugh!!! Love the movie, but I always get a little pissed at the end.??

I feel you dude it's never sat well with me, Augie goes through that whole thing and wins and then she just objectively fvcks him over despite her apparently liking him. He wouldn't have done that to her. Bitch

I agree; this really annoys me. HOW is that a strategy? Then everyone could hide in the bushes and wait for everyone else. She didn't deserve to win and as far as I'm concerned Augie is king!

That's kind of what they did to the King though... Danny faked being wounded to get him out.. I don't see much of a difference.

As for the ones saying she waited the whole game, well no she didn't, she already lost an arm...

Strategically speaking, if she's not a good fighter doing that makes sense, though since she killed her savior that's kind of a lame move...

danny was being active though, there's a difference between using strategy while being active as opposed to hiding out and waiting like a coward. not sure why you needed this explained to you. you must be special.
