I love it when directors want to act!

I don't know, I just think it's cool to see when directors take on a small or supporting character in a movie that they're not directing. Werner Herzog in this, John Huston in Chinatown (Polanski), John Cassavetes in Rosemary's Baby (also Polanski), Cecil B. DeMille in Sunset Boulevard, Spike Jonze in Three Kings, Fritz Lang in Le Mepris (although I didn't see it). Anybody else?

You have to see Werner Herzog in "Julien Donkey-Boy"!!!

Polanski is great in Chinatown, Cassevetes was great in everything(I mean for Christ's sake...it's Cassevetes, the man was a brilliant actor before a brilliant director) , Spike was great in Three Kings. The only one I have a problem with is Quentin. First off, I am a fan of Tarantino. I really like his movies. I'm no fan boy, but I do enjoy his movies a lot. But when he acts it's like nails on chalkboard. I love, love Pulp Fiction...but his part makes me cringe. His parts in Robert Rodriguez's films are horrible. Although they don't make me dislike any of those movies...so I guess it doesn't really matter afterall. He works perfectly in Planet Terror though. He isn't supposed to be good in that...so it works.

Well, he was also playing a rapist. If there's anything that Tarantino looks like he could play, it's a rapist.

Anyway, Pollack in Michael Clayton. Great performance.

What about actors-turned-directors (Clooney, Eastwood, Mel Gibson, Ben Affleck, and Sarah Polley)- there's loads of them, but only those five are really worth mentioning.

All in the Game.
