I think I ENJOY the original and the '93 version about the same but the original has a slightly better story-line and more sympathetic characters ('93 doesn't have anyone comparable to Dr. Bennell. Closest would be Forrest Whitaker, but he's only in two scenes) so I'm ranking it higher. 1978 has the story and the characters (more or less) of the original and disturbing special effects similar to the 1993 version, plus the best ending of them all. 2007 isn't BAD but it's by far the least of the four. It just seems kind of generic and not all that entertaining. I did like how it recreated both the 1956 and the 1978 scenes of Kevin McCarthy running through traffic like a maniac.

I grew up with the '78 version so maybe that is why I rated it higher. I always think of the comic scene with Sutherland arguing with the chef when he found a rat turd and told him to eat it. Plus that freaky scene where the dog and old man merged.
