In the similar movies category, why are there only the same 5-10 movies?

As much as people hate them, musicals are almost always popular. Glee was huge. Highschool Musical was huge. I don't really understand - am I missing a secret underground world of musical shows/films or are there really not that many current musical films?

All I can think of is Pitch Perfect, and that's it.
