Honestly if you caompare it to Epic Movie or Meet the Spartons. At least there is a plot to this and I thought their choice of Super Villian was quite good, not just a parady of villans from other super hero movies.

It's not really a part of the "Movie" series, they just sorta stole the name. It really wasn't a good movie, but if you were to compare it to the movies that it's stealing the thunder from, it's much better.
shareEpic Movie scarred me for life so there was no way I was going to watch this movie. Then one day my friend was flipping around the tube and stopped on Superhero Movie. Within about 10 seconds I was laughing. Leslie Nielsen helped me accept it I think. I flashed back to Naked Gun and Airplane! a few times.
The Tom Cruise scene was hilarious.

I was forced to see date movie in the theaters and hated it, and ever since then I promised myself never to watch another "____ movie" again, The series were just getting worse and worse. I heard all about how terrible epic movie and disaster movie were from a relative, and I recently was flipping through the channels and saw about 15 minutes of meet the spartans and I just couldn't watch any longer. Today I happened to catch superhero movie on tv from about 30 minutes on, and I was surprised to find myself actually laughing at some of the scenes. Most of it was hit or miss, but I thought it was about on the same level as scary movie 3, which was surprising to me. Of course it still had it's fart scenes and random pop-culture references but it wasn't overkill, and some of the funnier scenes I think made up for it, a few of the scenes after/during the credits were pretty hilarious. The only thing that kind of bothered me was that almost the entire storyline was spider-man 1, with some small scenes from other movies thrown in there, I would have liked to see a little more originality with the storyline, but hey it's meant to be a parody so I guess I can't complain.

I thought it was good as well. But I credit it mostly towards the kid. For a parody film to work the main character has to play the strait man. I think the kid did this even better than almost anyone I have seen in a parody film. Way better than charlie sheen.
shareCharlie Sheen was pretty good in his Hot Shots! series. I can't say I can compare the two though.

shareAnyone MUST admit that it was better than any of those "... movie"'s. Out of all of them, this was the best. Some of them like Meet the Spartans or Epic movie, I couldn't even finish them, this one I actually laughed quite a few times. It may not be a great movie, but its better than ones in it's genre.

Those movies were made by different filmmakers, it was the wrong choice of this one to titled his movie ".... movie" as to imply it's from the same series.
This was a decent parody movie, not as good as Mel Brooks, David Zucker, or the original Scary Movie...but still fair.

It funny you say that, Zucker actually had big part in Scary Movie 3 & 4 and Superhero Movie, hence the use of (the late and great) Leslie Neilson, Charlie Sheen, and Robert Hays in them. Which is why they are LOADS better than the other spoof movies by the idiots behind Meet the Spartans.

Just switched on the TV and this was playing, I was actually shocked that I was laughing at some of the scenes bc I was expecting it to be garbage. pretty funny though

only 1 major flaw in this film is that annoying farting scene, i hate that scene so much i skip it everytime i watch it.
also minor annoying scenes that bother me not so much, but still... like that suddenly breakdancing on the wall and falling in that poop in labaratory.
