Favorite Detectives

Dwayne Thompson is the man!

And I love Caroline Mason. Too bad they don't feature her anymore but love all her reruns.

Let us be crooked, but never common.

reply

Those two r my favorites too!

reply

Memphis seems to have a lot of great detectives, Mason being my favorite. The guys who cracked the Lester Street case were amazing.

reply

I love them as well as Mullins!! Mason and Mullins always!

reply

My favorite is Det Justin Ritter in Tulsa. He gets it done. :) And Det Robbie Barrere (?) in New Orleans because... he's cute! lol He also gets things done.

reply

Those are mine too! I think they are both cute as can be as well. You can tell they are both always processing things in their minds.
My other favorite is in Miami, but his name excapes me at the moment. I will come back and edit my post when it comes to me. He was interrogating a female suspect on Thanksgiving I believe. They had food brought in for the ones having to work. He made her a plate and brought it in to her, and asked if they could say grace/pray together. She opened up almost immdeiately and confessed to him while they sat and ate together. I thought that was fantastic!

That sounds like something Joe Schillaci from Miami would do. I really liked him, even if people thought he was a showboat.

reply

I remember now! Rolando Garcia!

It wasn't Schilaissi. I believe it was Manny Castillo.

reply

it wasn't either of them...I will try to find a list of them. I don't know why I have drawn a blank on it, but I know who he is when I see him, and this incident always comes to mind when I see him. I'll try to find his name though

My favorites are:
1) Det. Rob Barrere in New Orleans (sadly married with 3 kids 😢) and
2) Det. Justin Ritter in Tulsa.

Both are go-getters with a very human side. And of course because they're cute.

My least favorite is Sgt. Joe Schillaci in Miami, because he plays up to the camera so much and comes off as quite narcissistic. See the episode "Devil's Candy" (2005) to see what I mean!

reply

I liked Schillaci. After he took a promotion to be with his family more, Homicide went to him for help on a case because of his institutional memory of criminals, neighborhoods and gangs. He had previously worked undercover on the streets.

What I liked was how people would start in about how he looked familiar "like that actor guy." Sometimes he would look exasperated and mumble "Harvey Keitel" and they would say "oh yeah".

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

reply

i totally agree with you!! I love both of them..and they sure are cuties! But I don't want to leave out Matt Frazier who is Justin Ritter's partner.
I had the same issue with Schillaci.
I recall one in Atlanta I believe ..Quinn maybe? he was investigating the many murders of homeless people on the streets. He caught the guy and did a fantastic interview with the man. Had I been there, I would have given him a standing ovation when he walked out of the interviwe room/..lol

Atlanta Det. Summer Benton.. But I'm a sucker for chicks with power, plus I can not help but to love all female redheads lol it's a flaw of mine..

reply

Well, if you have to have flaws.... That's a good one to have!!! Love Det. Summer Benton... Fearless and will not put up with stuff!!!

reply

I thought she was in Cleveland, but I could be wrong. I remember how proud she was when she became a member of the "fedora hat squad" or whatever they call it. Their tradition is to give a fedora to a new detective after solving their first case.
She was so excited.

I can't die! I have 43 twitter followers that depend on me! oh, and I have a daughter.

reply

You don't see her that much anymore (2021)

reply

Mine is the little guy Robbie Barrere New Orleans homicide.
