Not for kids!

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Dorothy will only wear the shoes if they'll make her sexy. I turned it off and cooled off for a month. I thought I could just mute the movie when that part came on again. There was just too much sexy and hot for me to continue. Maybe I'll let her watch it when she turns 18, until then, "sexy" is not allowed in our house. I think the Muppets could have come up with a more creative way to say she'd be beautiful or pretty but I just can't think about Dorothy as a sex symbol. Shame on those dirty Muppets!

Do not worry about Sambuca's coments below. Sambuca is an 26-year-old unemployed athiest artist from Greece, and really has no right to discuss what is appropriate for your children to watch.

This is a horible movie, that is widely inappropriate for children.

The only cameos are Kelly Osbourne in a halter top (Ozzy's wayward daughter) and Quentin Tarantino threatening Kermit with a Samarai sword screaming about slashing and killing Miss Piggy so that blood squirts all over the set like a Japanese anime cartoon.

References to "nipple rubbing" and "Girls Gone Wild" and "sexy belly shirts" are just some of the inappropriate themes in this poor adaptation.

Maybe Brian Henson thinks he needs to take the Muppets in a new direction from his father. The father believed in wholesomeness and morality, and the son apparently wants to make the Muppets more urban and adult.

Unless you want to explain these adult themes with your child - it is best to avoid this show.

I cannot believe it took so long for someone to mention the Tarantino segment. What a disgrace that Disney/The Muppets "powers" would think this was funny. Ha Ha murder is funny! Also the huge image of a hand-gun on the wall behind him - hilarious!

I would throw the movie in the trash, but it is a rental.

Are you new to the Muppets? *ahahaha* Ever seen Labyrinth? They say "damn" and have one peeing as well, but it's a kids movie.

your child knows more than you think if they have friends.
And sexy does not mean a sex symbol. My 4 year old sis. watched it, and she has never said the sexy since.
Your just trying to shelter your kid.
18?
Your kid is going to have serious taunting problems when they're in the 8th grade and ask a friend 'What doe sexy mean?'

come on!

I Agree with Dwayne. Also using the word nipple. I am surprise they have not shown Miss Piggy and Kermit having sex yet.

Some people need to realise that The Muppet Show isn't Sesame Street. Sesame Street was muppets for kids. The Muppet Show, which came later, was not. It was envisioned as primarily an adult show with Muppets that the whole family could still watch. Go back and watch episodes of The Muppet Show again some time. There's plenty of muppety violence, innuendo and so on laced through those shows. Just as there are plenty of parodies of very adult movies as well. Hell, one of the Muppet Show pilots was even called 'Sex and Violence'!

Ever since The Muppet Babies, people seem to have this idea that anything Muppets is supposed to be just for kids, but that was never Jim Henson's intention, as he wanted to bring his artform in many different guises so as to suit many different audiences.

That said, this isn't a very good film to be honest. But some of the attacks on it over the appropriateness of certain content are still over the top and off base in my opinion.

Saying "sexy" is too racy for The Muppets?

The Muppets always tread a fine line, in trying to be a show, adults would enjoy watching with the kids, but would appeal to both at the same time. So a big part of the Muppets, was putting in jokes, or references, kids wouldnt get, but adults would. To an 8 year old, seeing Raquel Welch dancing around half naked with a big spider, is funny, and dads liked it as well!

I loved the Muppets as a kid. As an adult, seeing episodes 30 years later, I also get the jokes aimed at adults, now.
