What a s***** ending...

the movie was decent until the garbage ending. I'm willing to suspend the disbelief that she didn't hear him breathe in the backseat or whatever. I'm also willing to suspend disbelief that he beat her to the car, and out smarted her, despite being retarded or whatever. I also give it a pass on the fact that she took all those wild turns and his fat ass kept his balance and didn't get noticed.

.. On second though nah im not gonna.. the movie couldnt been fine killing the lead character, but it was executed SO SO badly.

I guess since she was in a panic with escaping and just trying to get out of the area that her senses were not as alert as they could have been for her to know that he was in the car. Then yet, I thought it was very cartoonish for him to be in the car before she got in if she was running far ahead of him, to begin with.

Plus this film is the prequel to the 2003 film so it makes sense she would die then there would be no 2003 film.

I was going to start a topic on the exact same complaint you had. I don't mind that she had to be killed off in order for the story to continue in the original TCM, but Leatherface beating her to the car and knowing she found the keys was way too much for me to accept.

Epic fail and my finger goes up to the director!

Yeah, for me that was the only thing wrong with this movie. That they all died, I mean what the hell? Still better to me than 2, 3, Next Gen and 3D.

It doesn't make a lot of sense if you think about it too much but I still liked it just for the brutal and downbeat neature of it all.

As for her not noticing she was in sheer panic and running on adrenaline. She likely had pure tunnel vision, if you've ever had a major adrenaline rush where you enter braindead tunnel vision acting on instinct you'll understand how she'd not notice him. I've experienced it a few times, getting chased by a bull when I was a kid and once during a fight where I got suckerpunched to the back of the head. Your brain shuts off, you act on instinct and your hearing goes funny it's like you're underwater.
