The Queen, Prince Harry and the Obamas in Invictus Games Challenge 2016. Boom!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvzKzBwqqX8
Thanks for sharing that Lois. You're right it is very harsh and uncomfortable viewing. These trolls are just such nasty vile cowards.
shareThanks for the video on #MoreThanMean, Lois. Food for thought there...
You're right, Lois. That was cyberbullying. This time, women doing their jobs in a field generally dominated by men were the victims, at other times it's refugees, homosexuals... whoever seems 'different'. Take your pick. In the anonymity of the internet those freaks apparently feel save to spew their venom. I don't know if feeling save from prosecution or a general inability to understand that they're actually addressing real living, feeling persons at the other end brings this on as a mass phenomenon--either way, it's vile, and it's very worrying.
~
Thanks for the other video on the Invictus Games Challenge, Laura. The Queen really is wonderful in this.
The Queen really is wonderful in this.
I saw this last month here on IMDb and would like to share this small video that IMDb put together about actor Domhnall Gleeson:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5620108/videogallery?ref_=tt_pv_vi_sm
ETA: I just read your post on the HT Laura. How fitting then seeing as how DG played a role in the Star Wars reboot. "May the 4th be with you!"
Also, you might also be interested in #6 and #7 in this list as well Laura.
#6: Gwendoline Christie - http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi1152496665?ref_=ttvi_vi_imdb_1
#7: Alfie Allen - http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi699380761
Thanks Lois. I know he is favourite of yours.
I never thought of this before. But is interesting the pronunciation of his first name. Because usually in Gaelic an 'M' and 'H' together make a 'V' sound like in the girls name Niamh.
I've found the Alfie Allen video which was missing from the video listing page for "No Small Parts"; so now I've added two more videos Laura. Check it out when you get a chance since they are both from GoT.
Yes, DG is a favourite of mine. The only one I haven't seen yet among his 2015 releases is "The Revenant". I thought he was shoe-horned in "Brooklyn" which I think was deliberate on the part of the movie/studio as it completely mislead the viewer (and especially a fan like me) as per the trailer.
And I feel his part was very forced and shoe-horned in "Star Wars: TFA" as well because I didn't get to really appreciate his character. (Same with Gwendoline Christie too) Same with Oscar Isaac's part even though his character is a bit more tolerable than Gleeson's character (because he had more to do I suppose but forced just the same). If you really want to see the two (three if you include Vikander) shine in their acting, especially Isaac, in the same movie, "Ex-Machina" is much better for that purpose.
Thanks for pointing out the pronunciation Laura. I had no clue that "Niamh" was pronounced that way. I suppose Neve Campbell's name is the Anglicized spelling of Niamh then. I use this website to help me with such names:http://www.pronouncenames.com/pronounce/domhnall
I watched "Brooklyn" yesterday and the character's name was Eilis which totally surprised me to see it written that way given the way it was pronounced..."Ay-lish".
Check it out when you get a chance since they are both from GoT.

Birds, you will be interested to know that the trailer for "Tulip Fever" has been released. It looks good!

🌷😷
Thanks for that, Lois. It does look good!
Ever since having read the book in 2000 when it was published as a paperback I thought this could make a good film... they took their time, though. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Tulip Fever coming to the theatres soon... No release date given as yet for Germany.
Btw, the link didn't work for me... but I found the trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omOWlPASLq4
* I seem to be hijacking this thread; sorry about that! *
Came across this quirky fun song (first one here) and fell in love with the voice (and the singer of course; so cute ). LOL!
Saad Lamjarred's:
"Lm3allem" - https://youtu.be/_Fwf45pIAtM
"Mal Hbibi Malou" (my favourite ) - https://youtu.be/RMJXyJuiyA0
Those were great. Thanks Lois.

The tulip movie looks interesting. Drama and romance. But its not Richard, I do like Christoph W, but, *sigh"
share(Btw, is Arab one of the languages you speak?)I wish! I don't speak it Birds but would definitely like to (re)learn because I find Arabic and the Arab culture fascinating. I can understand a few words here and there but generally my language skill is extremely basic. I was taught to read it in school and that's about it, but again, at the very basic level (so I can read more than I can speak it but I can definitely fake it LOL!).

You might have already seen this because it has gone viral. . And of course the store she bought it has sold out of the masks.
I don't know if you have seen this one before Lois. I know when I first saw it last year I didn't post because I was worried about spoilers for you in particular. But all the things mentioned only go up to and including Season 4.
It's very funny.

Thanks for that, Laura. It's hilarious!--even for someone who doesn't know anything about GoT.

Such a lovely woman!
Ohh thats cool that shes going to meet Mayhew. Maybe Harrison F will be there too......ok, he probably wont, but..
shareThis is so lovely. They wanted him to win on his final sports day at the school.

Miss all you lovely ladies here....
I wanted to share a couple of songs I have rotating on constant(!) replay on my music playlist at the moment.
1. Adele - "Send my love (to your new lover)":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk4BbF7B29w ----> maybe hard on the eyes what with the images moving around....so listen to the one below instead.
Absolutely LOVE love love this song!!New favourite!
And she sounds just the same singing it live! That's what I love about Adele actually. Take a listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr4k1DPWhtU (Love her little rant at the start! ....totally get her! )
2. Sia - "Cheap Thrills":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31crA53Dgu0
Again, TWO versions of this song and I love both mainly because of the dance moves! The "performance edit" video is absolutely amazing...the female/girl dancer is only 14 years old! Wow...Maddie Ziegler....Just ammmmazing.
The other version is titled "Lyric video" (with Sean Paul's vocals) which gets constant play on the radio here. Even the dance moves there are pretty fantastic....almost like a history version of all the famous dance moves ever!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYh-n7EOtMA
3. Ariana Grande - "One last time":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg92RrNhB8s
Hate the actual video to this song and the (doughnut-licking ) singer to be honest, but her voice is pretty awesome (for a kid) and this song is catchy.
ETA - and finally,
4. Jess Glynne - "Hold my hand":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLyUcAUMmMY
This song is from last year but it is featured on the new Bridget Jones movie's trailer and it's got me loving it all over again. Her hair!
Hope you like these as much as I do! Girl power!!! ✊
Miss all you lovely ladies here....

Thanks for all the links, Lois! Luckily, "Windows 10" did an update on my laptop yesterday so I've got sound again--which mysteriously vanished about two weeks ago... A couple of months ago I even had a bluescreen--for the first time in a decade. LOL
I don't listen to music a lot these days--and if I do it's just the radio while driving in my car--because my life's pretty hectic and noisy, so I'm happy whenever I can be alone in my head... which means that in terms of music I'm still stuck in the 70s, 80s and 90s. So, thank you for the new input--I shall definitely listen to it in the next couple of days.
Miss all you lovely ladies here....
This has probably been shared before. But it always makes me laugh every time I watch it.

I remember this! I looove this video!!! Worth a re-post now and then for sure. ]
Trailer for the new ITV period drama - 'Victoria.'

As I said in the 'HT' thread the music score has been composed by Martin Phipps who also wrote the music for 'N&S'.
Here are a couple of clips of the music.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECSnDV7DS88
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvmsRRuwDoI
Thanks again for the links, Lois--unfortunately some of them aren't working in my country (copyright issues). I love that Adele song too! A couple of weeks ago it was running almost constantly at our radio stations.
I usually only listen to radio programmes when I'm in my car, and right now this song here is on a lot, and has become quite a favourite with me: Billy Talent's 'Afraid of Heights' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMrq9SAF8Z8
... but then, I'm a 1980s rock girl at heart. During my formative years I was hanging out with the 'cool kids', those who were in acting class, or the guys playing in bands--and one close friend of mine at the time was playing the drums, and his idol was Neal Peart from Canadian band Rush. I checked them out on YouTube and was surprised to find that they made it well into the 21st century: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e066ZITNEc
Another song I like is by another Canadian band, Finger Eleven (don't know anything else by them, though): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOW29YAR-FY (It was in a fan video on RA's 'Strike Back' which was on YouTube a while ago)
... so now you know me for the fossil that I am
And last... something different: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-y_0Hmgdec

Tom Hanks as Woody on the Ellen show: https://youtu.be/BRUILig_dAQ
EDIT: Just realised that IMDb seem to have fixed the 'log out' problem...I did a dance of joy last night Birds.
... but then, I'm a 1980s rock girl at heart.LOL. Two of those links are copyright restricted for me Birds. LOL. The Billy Talent one and the Silbermond one. But I've listened to them by searching on YT.

Tom Hanks as Woody on the Ellen show: https://youtu.be/BRUILig_dAQ
I love Tom Hanks. He's not your typical handsome "leading man" type of guy but he's terrific to watch in just about anything. I know all his lines from "You've Got Mail" and all his facial expressions. And the more I watch him in "Cast Away" (I"m always drawn to it when it's on TV...) the more I just love him. It's a serious movie and he can do serious, as he has proven many times. I even caught a few of 'those' expressions in that video. Can you imagine him reading a bedtime story to his kids?
Great video, Lois. He's such a "natural" and so expressive, he almost takes over Ellen there. Thanks for sharing that one. :)
I love Tom Hanks.
That was really nice of him to do that. I"m not surprised, though, I think he is exactly the person you consistently see on talk shows. Lucky Rita Wilson!

Looking forward to this. I've read the book this film is based on. It is about a busker and recovering drug addict, who meets a stray ginger cat, who then joins him every day when he is busking. They have a really close bond and Bob is a real character. He is playing himself in the film and is top of the bill. LOL!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s13Fnj8LzD8
I think I've shared this video before about James and Bob's story.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MePaWG7g5FA
Aww..this is adorable!!! 🎸 🐈 🎶
I hadn't heard of their story before Laura! Thanks for sharing.
Wow..to turn your life around like that and author books! Amazing!! The power of love eh!
And just seeing London on-screen ....
Yes it's an amazing story. I absolutely loved the book, so definitely want to see Bob on the big screen. It comes out on the 4th November over here apparently. I notice that Joanne Froggatt is in it.
shareLaura, I remember this story because you did post that video a while back. So now they've made it into a movie and it looks good so, yes, it's a given that we animal/CAT lovers are going to see it!
I noticed Joanne Froggatt right away, too. Bonus.
Thanks for sharing. I'll look out for it to come over here.
That looks great. Just the kind of uplifting story you need in those bleak autumn days to come.
I for one am looking forward to a very nuanced performance by Bob. 😎
After all is said and done, a lot more will have been said than done.

I think Bob will be a natural.
Okay that was just sad.
You must be felin-e pretty good about yourself now, merej.
You bet - no kitten! 😂

Great stuff!
shareMethinks we're hijacking this thread a litter bit.
shareTrue that, Alfa. I don't think we can go on like this furever.
After all is said and done, a lot more will have been said than done.
Well it really might give one paws for thought, merej.
That Alfa just won't stop! 😂
Might have to whisk'er out of this thread for her own safety...😎
After all is said and done, a lot more will have been said than done.
That would be a sad tail indeed.
But probably necessary. 😀 Fangs to our silliness we might get kicked off this board.
There might even be some legal claws forbidding this kind of thread derailment.

Tabby or not tabby silly is the question here.
And that is my bottom of the barrel scraped scrupoulously clean.

!
That was fun, ladies. Unless Laura's going to keep going... But...whew...
You guys are the cat's meow!

Stop it YOU!
I'm out of here.

Thanks for those Lois. I'm not that familiar with James Marsden apart from X-Men. I have heard of the new series Westworld. It starts over here this week and I have it set to record. I vaguely remember the film.
shareI have heard of the new series Westworld. It starts over here this week and I have it set to record. I vaguely remember the film. You know Laura, I didn't know it was based on an old film. Written and directed by Michael Crichton!!! Wow!! I'm a MC fan and did not know that! It does look interesting. Given that it is in the hands of JJ Abrams and Jonathan Nolan, it is bound to do well. Gosh, and we've got yet another Hemsworth in this...LOL!
I'm not that familiar with James Marsden apart from X-Men.Ah of course! It is one of the roles he alludes to in the Jimmy Fallon video about always struggling to get the girl. LOL. But I know him of course from the chickflicks and comedy films he's done over the years.

He also has a lovely singing voice showcased in "Enchanted"
I found out he's done a few commercials for Toyota's RAV4 Hybrid. Here is one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-zhF0s5Vvw
I just remember Yul Brynner playing one of the robots.
It's funny - there almost certainly were some other actors in that film but the only one everybody (me included) seems to remember is Yul Brynner.
