When Lucy sees her Father again when she is much older, one of the themes from the movie Casper is faintly playing in the background. I noticed this because that is one of my all-time favorite movie themes. I wasn't surprised when I read during the credits that James Horner did the wonderful score.

Good ol' James Horner (the guy who did the music for Spiderwick) loves to recycle old riffs. Sort of weird habit, I guess. Anyway, he did do the score for Casper, and maybe lifted a little of it for that scene? It's a really pretty theme, though. And as always, James Horner turned out a very good score for the movie. But yeah, I was getting major Casper vibes off that scene too. :-)

Its in other parts of the movie too. When Jared sees his father (but its not his father) its playing the back there too.
It took me moment to figure out what movie I'd heard it in before. None of my friends believed me.

I made him rewind it so I could hear it again.
Then he heard it too.
We felt so smart for recognizing it.
