I am shocked!Budget 13 million$ + box office:only 3 million $???

People...
I don't get it..
That movie was really good.
Samuel Jackson was great in his interpretation, his voice change was genius, his facial change, the way he walks!
Story was great...
Josh was good too...

It cost 13 millions $ and made in the USA + foreign box office:3 million $ only???
WTF?????

Why?????
Tell me why????
This is so unfair!
You guys are crazy!
People see stupids movies like Meet the Spartans who made more than 30 millions $, the money will be used to make more stupids movies like that..
And good movies like Resurecting the Champ are making the producer go bankrupt and the movie business will not finance movies like that...
This is so sad, really...
To make a good movie, like this movie and to lose so much money...really sad..

Sam.

Loved the movie. Everything hollywood does is centered around money. People are stupid and like seeing stupid things like Meet the Spartans. Because this one lost so much and made jack at dvd sales you will prob not see much like this in the near future

I'm confused as to why you are so animated over the failure of this movie at the B.O. Unless you had a personal stake in it.

That aside, I just streamed it through Netflix last night and thought it was a very good movie. 8/10 stars.

I guess peeps were looking for another Rocky or something.

Usually, the highest grossing movies are the ones which evoke an emotional response in audiences, one that helps satisfy their psychological needs. In other words, the blockbuster movies are usually the ones that get our juices flowing. "Resurrecting The Champ" failed miserably in this regard, and was punished at the box office for it.

"Crap Shoot - The Documentary" explains why filmmaking seems like a gamble, but it really isn't. This doc is available on Netflix.

This title was forever in my Netflix queue - I felt reluctant to watch it because it was a boxing movie which I'm totally not into. The only reason it was even in my queue is because of Josh Hartnett whom I had a crush on.

Finally got around to watch it tonight... and sure glad I finally did. Turns out it was very enjoyable, with a heart-warming story and awesome acting.

I suppose I understand why it was a box failure though. There is no pretty actress like Megan Fox. There definitely is no car chases or superheroes. It doesn't appeal to the video game generation which is the dominating demographic for box office success.

What I don't really understand is why this great art piece did not earn recognition among critics, nor did it win any awards? The scripts and acting beats most of the recent Oscar or Golden Globe winners in my opinion.

I can only guess that the producers ran out of money and couldn't get enough investment to market it. It didn't even reach enough audiences to get nominated - because a major nomination surely helps even the worst artsy pieces to make some profit.

"It's the inside that matters" - WTF? That's against human nature.

I liked the movie, but i won't see it a second time, im not a big fan of story movies, and to be honest NEVER go see them in theater... If i go to the theater i want action, explosions, im even reluctant to go see comedies cause i apreciate them more with beers in my living room. I sometimes go see horror movie but this again i prefer to watch them in my basement with all lights dark.

To me a movie in theater need to be an action flick, to enjoy and have fun... So therefore i can understand why this movie did poorly there. Im not sure if i remember when it came out. I picked it as a DVD for 3$ out of a video sales... and yeah i enjoyed it, it was fun, but its going at the pawnshop... cause it ain't a type of movie i will rewatch...

I prefer buying DVDs cause i can watch them when i want, and sadly Netflix ain't in french yet... and i prefer watching them in my language... but i would definately get netflix if they sometime allow dubbed versions.

In any case, a good story movie, worth a watch.

Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!
